such an impressive coop ! I'm working with a tiny fraction of the sq footage but hope my coop can still be standing height and as efficient and comfortable as yours!

It's much larger than what you will need but it can be scaled to fit any situation. Best of all, it's a NY coop and works wonderfully in our climate!

Welcome. How "in" the city are you? Maybe you could buy an old subway car? no, that's impossible. buy bantams, they can fit in an apartment.

Thank you everyone! I have a question nagging at me while I plan for the chicks arrival. What was your experience integrating your flock with your current pets, if you have any?

I have two dogs and one cat. They are all well behaved but the younger dog and the cat are used to boxing and wrestling each other all day. I know they will want to play with the hens, so I tried to pick breeds that wouldn't be too small or overly docile in case they need to set a boundary. Of course I plan on keeping the chicks safe and separate, but would like to hear about other people's experience introducing their flock to their animals and how they get along now.

Haha I'm in brooklyn with a nice little yard. much smaller than a typical suburban yard but just enough for 4 hens and us!
