NYDH Contest #3 - An Opportune Time Award

So, this is my barn when it was almost completed. I don't have any pics of it completed on this computer, but let me just say, it is beautiful! It is my dream barn. It was built using my husband's design ideas, with a little tweaking by me, but it was basically his vision. I was only able to build it because, after he passed away in Feb 2010, his life insurance paid off my house. I knew he wanted me and the kids to have our barn, and we talked about building it when we could afford to do it, so I did it...

A look down the center aisle...

A little more interior detail...
My nephew built it for me. He has his own construction company, and I kept him pretty busy the whole summer of 2011 building this for me. He had never built a barn before, but he researched and worked with me and did an absolutley fantastic job! 1 1/2 years later, I still love everything about it...

But the reason I am telling you all this is because the other day I was joking with my nephew that I might need to hire him to build me the Taj Mahal of chicken coops this spring, depending on how many of these eggs I hatch out... He texted me and asked me if he could store his construction trailers in the parking lot of my building in town for the winter, and in return, he would BUILD ME A CHICKEN COOP!!!!!!!

Gorgeous!!!

and you set these on the 4th ?? HOLY CRUD??? what kind?? are they call ducks? little ducks? that is real early!! Pics pics!!!!
I did the mystery NYD swap and my duck eggs came early on 12/1 so I waited about 6 hours and put them in the incubator. I didn't want to wait too long! :) I was excited! I candled at 14 days all but 1 were good so that left me with 12. So far I have 8 hatched and I can see 2 more pips but the ducks are blocking my view everytime I look in to see the other eggs!
They were mystery duck eggs.... I think they are Khaki Campbells!!! I have not hatched ducks before, so this is all very new to me!! Once I move them to the brooder in the morning I will take lots of pictures!!
They are brown, dark bills, light brown in areas but mostly dark brown and dark feet. wow.. I am horrible at describing them! Now a chicken I could describe!

Well i went to build me a brooder this morning as i was gathering everything up i see these 2 big ole kidy pools i bought first of fall for 5 dollars.(the largest ones walmart sales with the slide). I drag one to the house put in a room and thats gonna be my brooder.Yeah .Its huge though maybe to big.I had to show My 2 chicks where the heat was hopefully they wont loose it again. The room i have them in is closed off from the heat.
Do you think the babys that hatch nyd will be ok if i put them in here with these 2 chicks?
