Obama Vegetable Garden

I'd do big garden but I don't have a staff to help me! Not sure it's an example for busy people but definitely one for growing your own.

I can just see the magazine ad:

Yes, you too can campaign for presidency, win, live in the White House and have everyone at your beck and call....and still have time to garden!

Nah! Just funnin'!

I don't think its anything out of the ordinary, I'm sure George and Martha had a garden there as well and had folks to tend it for them also.

Sounds like a Victory Garden makeover to me. Cool, though.
Didn't the Roosevelts have ponies on the lawn? Or was that the Kennedys?

Yes, I bet they'll have zucchini. It'll be the new must-have souvenir in the gift shop.

...Or they could be given as "green" gifts to foriegn dignetaries..... pardon the pun.......

WASHINGTON — On Friday, Michelle Obama will begin digging up a patch of White House lawn to plant a vegetable garden, the first since Eleanor Roosevelt’s victory garden in World War II.

So yeah, it is a remake of the victory garden. It's the first one at the white house since the 40s. And I think it's a good thing, even if the the Obama's don't lift a finger. Encouraging people to be conscious of where their food comes from is good, right?
