i love the security aspect!! I need that blankety blank deers!!

As for the rest - the food bill is just that it s a stupid bill You don;t like it quite moaning about it and stop the darn thing. Or better yet fix it.

As for the rest. - Geez people lighten up.

How would you like it if every single thing you did was judged by the harshest standards possible. Even your best actions could be spun differently.

I brought food to an elderly neighbor today. I gave him a cupcake!! What was I thinking offering an old man something so sugary! Why did I give him fresh eggs did i think he couldn't buy his own, Why would i give some one so old fresh breads those crusts are bound to be too hard!

The garden is a great idea. No, they can't do it all themselves. can you imagine the security issues? Not to mention how everyone would be screaming what are they doing in the garden when the economy is in such bad shape?

Focus solely on the economy, he gets accused of not being able to handle more than one thing at a time.

Absolutely agree 100%! Is the first lady not allowed to explore new things with her children and husband? Sometimes a rose is just a rose, and a garden is just a garden. If you look hard enough you will find something wrong with someone doing something with the best of intentions. Man, if we looked so hard for the good in people we'd be WAY better off.

I think it's a great idea for them to have a garden. I started a garden a few years ago for the first time (just like the first lady) and think it's great! Mind you, I haven't figured out how weeds can grow at 10 times the speed of carrots yet.

I also agree that they should get some yard hens!!

Laura Bush was a school teacher so I would say she definitely did read to children before being first lady.

You know what is interesting is I think Michelle is following the peoples lead here. Last spring there was a 300% rise in the sales of vegetable seeds in the US.

I'm betting that the garden which will be a months long venture will cost less than the security that was needed for Mr. O to go on Leno. I'd rather see the garden than that. Yay for gardens no matter who plants them.

Personally, let Mrs Obama carry her wishes and ideas through before everyone throws salt on the wound. This is a woman who is trying to get a message across, irrespective of whether she was in a position to do it before or not. Give her space and let that space grow.......like nature, not everything is perfect, but give it a chance and let it nurture itself and who knows what could happen... support the young plant, and that young plant can gorw into a mighty tree...... give the plant a chance...and it could surpirse you all................

No one is perfect.......but everyone deserves a chance.... I for one applaud the Obama's effort in at least starting a veggie garden.....who knows what will come next.... but that garden does not need weed-killer thrown on it before planting begins... it needs support..........and a positiive approach........ got mine!

And as a grower of heirloom tomatoes, I LOVE the woman's comment about heirloom tomatoes. People all over the country are saying "what's an heirloom tomato?"
