~Oblivion~ {A Fantasy RP}

He leaned on the doorway. One hand smushed over his mouth and his brow wrinkled. She seemed worse, now. More nervous, though he wasn't sure how. She had just slain a cat, and now she was afraid of the doctor?
The medic sat his bag down and pulled the remainder of the herbs from her wound, careful not to prick her with the thorns. He was a nervous little man, and made a sort of squeaking sound every once in a while. Maybe he was talking to himself? Trying to remember something? Neo unfurled one of his wings and started preening, nervously running his fingers over the blue feathers.
When at last the man seemed satisfied with his mutterings, he pulled out some bandages and salve. "You did a fine job. Fine job, yes, yes." He twittered. "Cats claw is good for many things. Many things. Hm, hm!"
Xyla squirmed as the medic began applying the bandages, looking to Neo with eyes that pleaded "Please, tell him to leave." She was growing increasingly nervous the more the man was around, and more uncomfortable every twirl of the bandages that neared her skin. She couldn't even bear looking at him, that's how negative the experience with her parents had been. A single tear formed in her right eye, she couldn't avoid the past anymore: it was rushing, storming her normally sturdy fortress, tearing it down brick by brick.

He fidgeted, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. Lowering his brow, his eyes flitted around. Was he hurting her? Being too rough? He didn't seem threatening in the least bit. Unless he saying something under his breath.
Neo hadn't even realized he was glaring until the man turned around. "Oh." The boy said, blinking. "Sorry. Um... could you, uh...." This was going to be awkward. This man was a professional, eccentric or not. He couldn't just barge in and tell him he wasn't doing it right. Could he?
Then the tear came, and that did it. He stepped up and grabbed the bandage roll. "Show me how?" He asked.
The man unhanded the bandage. "Yes. Yes of course. Of course." He said, nodding quickly.

Xyla quickly wiped away her tear, looking gratefully to Neo, who she didn't know was overcoming a large chunk of his fears at the moment. Xyla, much calmer now, moved so Neo could apply the bandage as needed. She looked as he delicately applied the salve and wrapped the bandages around her waist, sighing once it was all over. She looked up at Neo again with an appreciative look on her face, one that showed how proud she was of him. She scooted back up against the pillow so she didn't bend her abs, which would worsen the pain.

A grin formed at he corners of his lips. When he noticed it, he let it spread. How had she crawled under his skin so quickly? Mere hours ago he had wanted to have someone else do this, and now he didn't feel like he could leave her.
Someone else. uh-oh. His smile faded. The patrol. "I better go... get the kitty." Neo said, as the medic packed his bag. "I'll be back." He promised.

Xyla nodded, as both the medic and Neo left. She looked over to her windowsill, where there was a rack of paints, which Spirits used in war, or for large events, often seen as beautiful, marking the vibrancy of the species. She just studied all of them:wow, she hadn't used them in a while. Maybe it would be amusing to see how Neo liked them, but there was no reason for that right now. She simply laid back to let the time pass.

(She is gonna have an awful hard time with this bedrest thing, I suspect.)
Neo rushed back to the border. Hopefully he could skin the panther and get it solution before anyone noticed. The forest blurred by and he pumped his wings, nose tipped into the wind. He swerved around the trunks, lost in thought when a thump came from above. The angel wheeled around. The patrol.
"There you are, prince!" One of them sneered. She tossed a rock into the air and caught it. She crunched up her tiny nose. "Where were you?"
Neo glared at her. "I don't have to tell you anything." He said.
She laughed, "Oh! Being brave today are we?"
He hovered there, silent. I don't have to put up with this. He turned away.
"Hey! I asked you a question." She snapped as he flew off, but a leathery hand laid on her shoulder.
"That's enough, Afia." He growled, and watched him go. "He'll get what's coming to him."

Neo scanned the ground for a boarder tree. Stupid Afia. Stupid parrot. Stupid me. He shook his head. How did one even go about skinning a cat? And did she want to keep the skull, too? Oh, he hoped not.
