He meant to laugh, but ended up making a weird huccup-y noise instead. Did he like it? A stupid smile spread across his face. He felt like a doofus, and he knew he looked like one, but her... oh gosh. He moved in closer and brushed her hair back. Eyes and veins turning emerald once more. A single rose grew from his wrist. "Kitty," he said as he wove it into her hair. "You look perfect."Xyla hung the skin on a tree, letting it dry, before turning to him, before shyly asking about her paint "Do you like it?" She had kept her blush going strong as she sensed his eyes on her. She looked down at the floor, unable to hold his eyes anymore.
Xyla smiled at the peculiar noise, she could tell he was nervous, but to be honest, so was she. At his touch she lifted her head upwards, daring to peek into his eyes once again, blushing at the name she had been given, at the rose that he placed in her hair. Xyla closed her eyes as he kissed her cheek, before opening them once he begun his stammered apology. Oh, he was a mess sometimes. She stopped him in his tracks saying in a soft whisper "No. It's ok. I liked it.", hoping that gave him enough courage to do it again, sincerely this time. She walked a bit closer to him, giving him that meek gaze she had done so many times before, closing the distance between them slowly. She had given him all the indicators he needed, it was just a matter of overcoming his fear now. She didn't know why he was so nervous around her, but then again, why was she so nervous around him? Thoughts raced in her mind, all racing and pushing to be in first place. It seemed that race would never end...He didn't realize he was leaning in until his lips brushed her cheek. At once, his eyes flew open and he backed away. "Oh my gosh, I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean-" he clawed the back of his neck, retreating even more. He stared at the ground. "You should go back in the house. You need to rest." He mumbled.
