How can I keep my chickens occupied in their coop and pen so they don't want to get out?

How is your run set up? I have leaf litter for mine to dig through, a dust bathing box, roosts to hop up on. During certain parts of the season I open up my second run and let them have access to grass and/or my garden. I just try to give them things to do that cater to their instincts.

They still may want to come out, but you as the keeper get to decide where they are.

I still let my Chickens out daily if weather permits..They walk around in the snow..I put a flake of alfalfa hay in the run for pecking and scratching..My run is covered and has sand...They dust bath daily

I did let them out but they keep going into my neighbors yard and ripping it up so they have to stay in pen.
