That's your response to watching the OWS crowd flounder to respond to his legitimate questions? It's ALL Schiff's fault or he should be in jail?
"Blame everyone else for your problems" or "Take no personal responsibility"-one or the other of these sayings should be the motto of OWS.

I believe Peter Schiff never held a gun to the head of anyone, maybe I missed that story. Investment money is money you can afford to lose, Economics 101.The gal would surely throw OWS under the bus if she became the 1% by charity.

Those of you who believe Schiff is right, go back and review the links Ivan gave you.

This is not capitalism that we have it's crony capitalism. It's corrupt capitalism. There has ben massive fraud and illegal behavior. There has not been too much regulation there has been far too little enforcement of existing regulation. Investment money is not money you can afford to lose (which is how it is supposed to work) if you force people to put their retirement money in it!

Don't worry about any of this. The Euro plan is to create an insurance fund to help cover losses. But they are going to allow CDOs against the fund!!

That is simply so insane as to boggle the mind. Some days I am ready to argue and struggle to save this thing and other days I hear crap like that I that I just figure we're so screwed there is no point. People on here who keep insisting that regulations are the problem will keep getting shafted this way.

Thirty years of Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman and "selfishness is good" thinking and people are still buying it.

Once upon a time being a business leader was seen as being a position of responsibility. You had a responsibility to do the best thing by the company and its shareholders at the very least. Now its all selfishness is good I do what I want for my benefit and screw the company, screw the economy, who cares if it trashes the company I'll get my bonus anyway.

It is NOT communism to say we have some responsibility to one another. It is NOT socialism to say we need ENFORCEMENT of some regulation because the market is NOT free if there is no property and contract law. It is NOT capitalism if the government bails out those that fail and stick the rest of us with the bill for their failures!!

The grerat guru Schiff claims that he predicted so many things but all of his clients lost from a minimum of 40% up to 80% of their accounts. Schiff was only there for publicity.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

Are you denying that we have become a nation with an entitlement mentality. The old Bread and Circus' meme, which took down the Roman Empire.

How many of those people, on the street, do you really believe are filled with the entreprenuerial spirit, and how many are filled with the Selfishness is good. I want mine, now?

Royd...not that it really makes any difference, but I went right down there to all the cities where the protesters are gathered and did a scientific count. The result was quite suprising in that the numbers and percentages mirrored the numbers and percentages of the people on BYC forum.

What you do not seem to get is that it makes very little difference if you understand their motives; agree or disagree with their philosophies; or anything else that one may think about the movement. What should matter is that this country now has a lot of people protesting in many different cities all around the country and it would make some real sense to pay some attention and not dismiss it out of hand. Secondly, and most important, a civilized country does not and should not use violence and deadly force against protesters who are basically peaceful and unarmed. Do it enough and the many people who are now on the sidelines will be moved to join in, but they will bring their guns. If you are old enough to remember the protests in the Vietnam era and the killings at Kent State, then you should be smart enough to have learned by the mistakes that were made then and not repeat them now.

Saying, Oh, they will go home now that it is getting cold, is pretty shortsighted. Home may be a nice warm weather climate like Texas, California, Tenn., etc. Oh, I forgot, they are already protesting in all of those places.

If one has the time and effort to protest than one would think that that time could be used making life better for yourself. Protesting is a last ditch effort to take something from the "haves" and give to the "have nots" it usually accomplishes very little. I doubt the woman in the video would be ever satisfied in any situation, she is probably divorced, ran her bread winner out of the house with her mouth and... well enough said there.

There is no comparison in this protest compared to those of Vietnam not even close, people back in the 60's were dying these folks just want a bigger piece of the pie.

Schiff does what he does because he can.

I have hired people that are happy to have a job and work accordingly and then I screw up and hire someone who thinks I owe them a living, any guess which one stays?

I see a trend from the 60's that protests are becoming a fad with certain social groupings that seems to resemble a wanna be that hopes to mirror the protests from the 60's only now the government has learned to curtail those protests. I do find it odd that the drug, alcohol, homeless all seem to be attracted to these events as well as the legitimate gripers.

Just curious. Did you dismiss, out of hand, the protests, which resulted in the 2010 election landslide? We actual got results on the first wave.

Are you telling me that you've got the money and time to travel to EVERY city, where there is a protest organized? Sorry, but I'm throwing the flag on that one. And to do a scientific count? There must not be many protesters out there, if you were able to verify every single motive.

I know why they don't want an Occupy DC. The unbiased media would do a side by side of the Tea Party gathering and Occupy would be paltry in comparison.
