Eggs Hatched So far:
15 out of 20 Dutch Bantams
12 out of 12 Khaki Campbells
9 out of 12 Quail
3 out of 6 Jersey Giants
0 out of 12 Serama
4 out of 4 Muscovies

To get the water pump going first fill the reservoir with water then you might have to suck on the tube extension that goes into the incubator so as to prime the system then it works perfectly. It maintains very precise temp and humidity settings. i leave the eggs in the Brinsea until 2 days before estimated hatch date then move them into the Little Giant still air non-turner for final 2 days as the Octagon 20 gets very crowded at hatch time I presently have 10 Indian Runner, and 20 Serama eggs in the Brinsea with varying hatch dates.

The Brinsea incubator display panel will show both Temp and humidity readouts so you can monitor them.

I went to Walmart and bought an extra humidity/temp gauge to cross check and verify the Brinsea settings. Brinsea offers a very accurate temp only gauge whose probe you can insert via the vent hole into the Brinsea if you have reason to suspect the reading on the display.

I guess I need to put my glasses on and look again. I see the temp gauge but not the humidity gauge. When in doubt read the directions. Going now to check it out.

I have assumed that you have the Octagon 20 Advance which has the automatic watering
system. If you don't have the "Advance" then I can't say for sure that you will display relative humidity as I suspect you won't..

I am looking into which incubator to get for hatching Serama eggs. Sounds like this is a great product! I am alittle concerned that you had 0 out of 12 Serama eggs hatch though. Do you think this is because of the incubator or just a bad batch of eggs? Looks like the rest of them did great! Thanks for your help and advice!
