October Hatch-a-long 2022🎃🐣🍁

Pics
Tomorrow I'm candleing my eggs!!! Hopefully we have babies!!:fl:fl:fl

I'm candling mine today.

I'm anticipating some infertile eggs because my female to male ratio is so high and my rooster is molting -- though I have seen him doing his duty so having no tail isn't slowing him down TOOOOOO badly.

Following! I won ten eggs in a contest on here with @Pierre duck drake and put 18 eggs in the incubator but only two hatched. I’m guessing that as said before the post office did a number on them. They came from Washington to Michigan. I ordered from a mixed flock, and I got two adorable little silkie mixes! The blackish grey one is named zip for how incredibly fast she pipped and zipped right out of her shell, and the white one is named Dot for the little black dot on her back. I also just brought home a precious silkie mix roo who needed to be rehomed last night. These are my first ever silkies so here I go starting my silkie journey!

Welcome and congrats on your new Littles!😍
Your rooster is adorable! He looks like he may be mottled, too. 😊

This is a cute thread! I’ve actually got a bantam hen who went broody on the 21st, two days ago, and am also planning on hatching out 12 ee/oe eggs, 8 of which I have collected, so i’ll have them on the incubator within a week at most.

Here’s broody, she’s a little bantam named reese’s! 5 of the eggs are her own, 3 are full-sized eggs, no clue how she fits them all under her. Hoping for some fibro babies from her eggs for a little personal project of mine.

Hopefully you get a good hatch rate!! We candled mine, 3 fertile and 3 not. My rooster has a hard time balancing on the girls...... I am leaving the infertile ones in for a few more days just to be sure!
