October Hatch-A-Long

I candled my eggs today. I had candled on the weekend and of 24 shipped eggs, it looked like 6 were viable, and 4 for sure blood rings. Well, looks like I miscounted and we have seven viable eggs right now! Hoping for a good hatch midweek next week!

Is there a way to tell if they weren't fertile at all? I'm curious because there were ten definitely clear looking eggs, like didn't start. We opened a couple clears, but the yolks broke and we didn't see the blasto-spot (fancy term...). Some may have been too roughly treated (I'm pretty sure there was a very loose yolk), plus there were air cell issues - all the blood ring eggs had loose air cells. One of my good ones has a slight saddle look, but it seems stable and is still going at this point.

Four Trader Joe's went into lock down today! I off a final candling and they were all moving. One looks a little behind the others though. Is that a sign it won't make it?

Four more trader Joe's and three barn yard mix are due on Halloween!

day 15 on a dozen here. they are being sat on by a blue olive egger named smokey. only 4 have been candled because smokey objected STRONGLY but all 4 were good.
