LOL.. Just went out to gather this mornings eggs and to make sure she wasn't sitting on any, put my hand under her breast to lift her, narry a feather does she have on her breast so I slipped the fake eggs under her... DH just kinda rolled his eyes but like I said, I didn't buy broody breeds to not use them...in for a penny in for a pound

will check her and if she stays tight I'll put some eggs under her Sunday morning

I'm in awe with my flock... Went out yesterday and noticed a hen had been in the nest for quite a while, removed all eggs from under her, went out this morning, yep, she is still there... Getting into some pretty cold nights here so I figured my girls were done for the year... Not sure if I am going to let her or not yet...She is pretty easy with me, lets me get under her so I may want to let her, but as of right now I have 21 chicks of various ages 1 week-3 weeks with more to hatch ( 7 are mine) next week... I guess I could always sell the extra's this spring..
Ok I talked myself into it. :D. I'll give her until Monday on some fake eggs, if she is really serious I'll slip some fertiles under her

Have I said lately that I love my life :)

Yeah, chicken math is fun, isn't it? Enjoy.

My silkie was born cross beak and with one eye. her good eye either has a weird eyelid or something is stuck on her eye. Opinions?

Is there anything I can do for her? Would hate for her to go completely blind.

If it were me, I would watch to see if it moved when she blinks. Then I would think that it was just a grown on the eyelid. If it were, I would try pulling it off gently with tweezers. If it doesn't look like it was obstructing vision, I would just leave it, I think, though. Good luck!

Whatever it was it fell off! Thank goodness!

I was worried I was going to have to cull her since its her only good eye. As of right now she hasn't eaten or drank anything besides when I show he where everything is. So keeping an eye on her, might have to use eye dropper to feed and drink her until I get her to do it on her own.

I got a hova genesis 1588 and it needs eggs in it... It told me so... So I ran it today while I was out taking my state CNA exam (that I passed!) and it (and I) did so well I fed it some eggs! DH reminded me that I said I was done for the year but that' was the LG 9200... Not the hova! I got a major eye roll but I need to test it out before I use it in the class room lol

I have a pip!!! One baby pipped and is resting, the other is rolling now and then presumably because it's trying to external pip. I'm so excited!!!
