October Hatch-A-Long

My last egg, took pic yesterday, day 9. Do I need to toss it?
I can see the dark spot that it evident in all eggs at this stage, cant see any veining because the egg is so porous... Does that spot move around when you hold it still? Is their any veining... Those porous eggs are so darn hard to see into!

No movement. Only visible veins is what looks like a circle around the embryo

If it was my egg I would say its dead but I hate to tell you that...

It sounds like the embryo died and the ring around the dark spot if evidence of this, but without being able to see it for myself (pictures aren't as clear) I would hate to tell you to toss it if there was a chance, maybe let it go another couple days and re candle?

I think I lost all my hatch too. *sigh* when I switched from the box to the clear carton, the egg I had (the "twin" egg that turned out to be a single) quit. The other two are on day 4 with no evidence of development. My situation sounds exactly like Peep-Chicken's; No movement, a ring of death. I guess this gives me a chance to buy a better bator?

So...I have dark eggs that are pretty porous. Should I even attempt to candle at day 7, or should I just wait for day 14 when I know I'll be able to see something for sure? Will the bad ones explode?

Sorry pics are a little bad

I wouldn't throw it yet. I had a similar one at 10 days that didn't look like the other 5 and by day 16 had obviously developed further so was fine. Don't be too quick to throw anything, they aren't going to explode this early, leave them now and just look again when there will very definate signs day 15 onwards.

Ok cool thanks! :yesss I didn't toss my other eggs, broody kicked them out and broke two, although she seems pretty attached to this egg :)
