Ok cool thanks! :yesss I didn't toss my other eggs, broody kicked them out and broke two, although she seems pretty attached to this egg

Just put a mark on it with a pencil then you can compare it with the others later. I've read not to candle day 11-14 so sit on your hands lol and take another peek after that. I was astounded at the change, it was no longer difficult at all to see if there is something growing, most of the egg was full of black chicken.

Day 20 here, broody got off her nest to have breakfast so I had a peek but no signs of hatching yet. (Note to self never set eggs late at night again. Makes keeping track of days confusing because your day clicks over at the end of the day instead of the beginning. So tonight we will be 21)

While I was looking one of the eggs did a little bounce! It was so cool can't be far away now!

Day 27 and we have a duck egg pip!!! I had written LOVE on one egg and JOY on the other so I could keep track of them... she has a nest full of infertile eggs but I didn't want to freak her out by taking them. LOVE is pipped and JOY is internally pipped... I may have ducklings tomorrow!!!!!!

I want to sit in the coop but the chickens would poop on me : (

I'll take photos... they are Anconas so they are gonna be adorable! I heard some peeping tonight... can't wait to see what they look like!

Congrats to all the new hatches!!!

One thing about candling. I haven't been on much but I noticed some candling really early. Day 7 is the EARLIEST I would candle. I personally wait till day 14 or day 10 if I smell something funky. I've had some that looked like garbage the first week but then they end up going all the way and hatching! My hatch rates have gone up by keeping my hands out of the incubator! Lol
