We have a second egg pipped! The first one is singing and rocking a little bit occasionally. I'm thinking it's going to be a busy night in the Brinsea. Too bad teachers don't really live at school!

They are so cute! How can you tell sex is it the size of the white spot or what? I don't get it.

Thanks! I had a barred rock in April that turned out to be male. He was bigger from the start. Bigger feet, bigger comb, etc. He matured faster than the others. Plus I checked their vents and I guessed right with the 2 I suspected were roos.

I'm not sure if the six I'm hatching are from my BR or BO, daddy is a silver EE. I'm not sure but I think if it's the BR males will be barred females black. If its the BO males gold and females silver. I have tried to check vents, I don't know enough about it to be accurate. Does the sex link info. sound right?

I have a second pip. I didn't notice at first. It piped on the bottom side but I see a small piece of shell next to the egg.

I thought my first pip was in trouble. She was zipping downward. She only made in about 1/2 inch in 11 hrs. Then she got tired of messing with it and changed directions and piped clockwise all the way around the egg in 30min. Her head was under her left wing. My very first baby from my eggs hatched at 5:55pm. Her name is lefty.

Congrats on lefty. Sounds like it was confused which way was up. I think that is the reason to stop turning the eggs during the last 3 days. What happened to the weak sounding one or was this the one?

That was the one. When she figured out to go the other way she had no problem.

I'm having lots of trouble staying connected as my signal is very weak at my house. I'm on a cell. My pictures no longer will embed, takes a long time and then nothing. How many left to hatch?
