small chick hut is in the big coop, I secured lamp to ceiling (inside small hut) with chicken wire, not going anywhere, and my other birds cannot knock it over,or get to it, the heat from chick house will also keep chickens warm in their coop. There is a window in little house, and that light shining through will keep my hens laying, plus one of my pullets just laid an egg, and 7 more are right behind her ready to do so! I chicken wired off the roof of my small hut so the coop hens will not roost on it. I can spy on the chicks through the window with out startling them too.
