Two pips last night, but no progress on them this morning. They're peeping and rocking though. And four more pips this morning. Fingers crossed. I had to move them to a different incubator so I hope I didn't mess things up. And is 90% humidity way too high during lock down?

My first time I followed the directions on my Genesis 1588 and had wayyyyy too much humidity. I since learned about the dry hatch method. So I only add afew drops in my Genesis to try and keep it between 20-30 perecent. Its not always there but I don't much worry about it. I move them to my Brower for hatching so lockdown is done there. I can't seem to get the humidity in there to go high. They are hatching now, three are out so it seems to be ok.

I really like the dry way. I used to worry SO much about the humidity level, it was crazy and I made myself crazy too!. Now, I set the eggs and forget about them until they hatch.

I think my hatch is finished. 6 chicks out of 7 eggs in lockdown. I got 4 Lavender Orps and 2 split black (to lavender) Orps. The last egg is still in the incubator but I don't think its going to hatch. I had to help one of the chicks out as it had pipped but was stuck and couldn't zip around.

So I think that my humidity during lockdown should be abit higher. I can't get it higher in my Brower which I use as hatcher even with the water trays filled. I will try adding a wet spong next time.

If I had a two pips by 8pm last night but no progress except rocking and peeping by noon today, does that mean they won't zip? I've tried to tell myself to relax & let things happen, but I am beginning to freak out that I've killed them by having humidity near 80-90%.

I'm 3 hours from day 20 on my shipped Ameraucana (maybe EE) eggs. I went into lockdown with 6....Trying to find things to do other than peek in the 'bator everytime I walk past. I do peep and chirp at them though :-D

my weak guy is doing so much better today:) he is walking around with the other ones and seems full of energy. i think he might do ok:]

another one hatched also (i put my eggs in on diffy days)

so far i have 6 that hatched and i think some more are trying to hatch right now

everybodies babies are so cute:^D i will have to post pictures soon too

as long as they are rocking and peeping strong i would leave them be are you vents open? if not open them that will help lower the humidity, i did my last hatch with the humidity between 75 and 80. good luck!

Rita! You had a really good hatch! Can't ask for better than that, really. So far I have eight hatched out..one just seconds ago. I can see two more that are pipped and the little flake is moving as the little baby breathes lol. I moved six to the brooder because they were all fluffy and were pecking around looking for food. I am TRYING not to look inside every time I walk by but it is SO hard~
