October Hatching ... How many are in? I'm due to hatch on 10/17

I set 10 eggs under my Australorp yesterday evening and 4 under my Silkie. Should be due around the 27. Halloween babies!

SUPPOSE TO GET 18 TURKEN EGGS fRIDAY. Just hatch 16 chicks, 3 Americana (mispelled) and the rest BCM 2 different bloodlines.
Have never seen turkens when they were small. So I am going to try to hatch some. If he gets the eggs.

I am in and on day 11. with 16 BLW and 5 bantam whtie silkies and mottled cochin crosses. They are due the 16th....yeah If all hatch I will be at 64 total...chicken math.

I am setting some BCMs and Olive Eggers at midnight 10/08 so they will be hatching/born on 10/29 right on my 21st birthday! It was completely un-planned so it's very exciting! I went to count the days till the hatch today and was so surprised to find out that I will be having an unexpected birthday present.

Okay, I'm in. Just set four eggs under a broody. I can wait to see what I get because this is a small breeding project I'm busy with, using a very large Thai fighting rooster as the sire. The hen I'm using only started laying again four days ago after having gone broody on me. This is the first time I'm breeding her and she is also a huge girl so the results should be quite interesting. I'm also going to continue collecting her eggs so that I have more to put under a second broody. The good thing is I always have at least one or two bantam broodies at any given time, hence the reason why I call them living incubators

They lay about ten eggs, and then they go broody. I leave them in the nest for two or three days and then they get evicted. A week passes, they lay another ten or so eggs, and it's back to being broody. I'm telling you, it's like clockwork

Anyway, at least that's one girl got something to do in the meantime - hatching should be on the 28th.

BTW, these will be my very first home-bred chicks. I had previously processed all mature roosters because I wanted one specific breed of rooster, and it ended up taking me quite a while to find the ideal bird, in terms of what I was looking for

I have 8 Frizzle cross in the incubator and 4 under a broody hen due Oct 21 and 10 Wheaten Penedesence, 9 Welsummer and 1 Black Copper Maran in the incubator due Oct 27. Can't wait to see what hatches.

i set 16 easter egger eggs last night... 1 actually hatched before i got them out of the egg turner ... anothe hatched this morning.. 2 more were zipped and i think i counted 6 pipped... should be a good hatch for us

ahhhh, I did it, I candled just enough to get rid of 4. And my candlings were correct....when I cracked them open ( just to double check that I did it right ) there were no chicks! phew
