October Sexing Project

Once again, inspired by Gina, but she hasn’t been on for awhile…
Anyways, I already did this is in June, with my june hatch.
You can see that thread here.
So this month is 4 different breeds.

We have
Dark Brahmas (DB)
Lavender Orpingtons (LO)
Splash Cochins (SC)
and Blue Silkies (BS)

Dark Blue is Dark Brahma
Purple is Lavender Orp
Red is Splash Cochins
and Green is Blue Silkies

The first 2 letters of their “code” is their breed, and the last letter is their band color.
(Blue=B, Black=G (for graphite),Clear = C)

So for example, LOG is Lavendar Orpington Black.
They will have names once I figure out gender.


I got these from a hatchery on October 2nd, so they are about a week old now.

This is what I’m hoping for:

1 Male Dark Brahma
2 Female Dark Brahmas
1 Male Lav. Orpington
2 Female Lav. Orpington
3 Female Splash Cochins
1 Male Blue Silkie
1 Female Blue Silkie

And you have been wrong before - it’s not just 3% of the time.

They are now 24 days old!! A little over 3 weeks! I took comb pics of the ones with singular combs! Thank you @Iluveggers and @MysteryChicken for voting!

SCB is a bit sick. She is sneezing and has a little bit of pink and wetness around her left eye. Seems fine other than that.
