October Swap.......CLOSED.......

I'll probably wait til Spring for my next participation. I have hatches due through the 3rd week of November. It was fun though.

Yeah, and I'm going to practice incubating on my own eggs over the winter before I get any more shipped--so far, I am REALLY bad at hatching! :o

Yeah I hear ya...I have had awful luck with shipped eggs, no matter how well they're packed. But I just can't resist the "I'm gonna try one more time", or "I've always wanted that chicken breed". I have no willpower at all.

I just checked, and the QUAIL eggs that are in the incubator with the chicken eggs you sent seem to be doing well and developing (my last batch of quail eggs were totally "scrambled" and none developed), on day 7. It's a freaking miracle, I swear. Now if I can keep from killing them for another week or so!

Apparently our P.O. here is ROUGH on eggs, because I've had lots and lots of "clear" ones in shipped batches.

What breed were the little cutey adorable eggs from? Some of them were laid on my birthday (10/16), so I haven't given up on them yet, though they look like a lost cause.

I'll send you some more now or in the Spring whichever you'd like, because I'd really like for you to get a hatch out of this. If you wait til Spring I'll have a larger variety for you and much fresher eggs since I'll have more laying then...I'll remember you if you want to do that,I have a list started of folks who messaged me for various Spring eggs.

The tannish ones are my BTB japanese...And the creamy ones are either the Mille Fluers(more than likely) or the Porcelain dutch x BTB Jap or crossed with BTB Dutch(he gets ahold of a lady once in a while). The large ones are BR. And as I said a little way back, Raoul is breeding with Bandaid now also so there is a CochinxBR available now if you want to check fertility on her eggs, She just started laying a couple of weeks ago...I don't know how soon a pullets eggs can be incubated. Let me know...

Have a great day, Cindy

Temps here have been decent for mailing eggs, but I don't know how much longer that will last and my hens have all gone on strike anyway. *sigh* I keep telling myself it's temporary, that they'll start again when their feathers are all back in, then I went to the store and bought a carton of eggs because I was out and muttered that I was spending entirely too much money on feed to have to be buying eggs! lol

I will be in a Nov. swap I am getting eggs by the doz. now. I might even be able to put some Marans in

Is that what the little eggs were? Just the eggs themselves were SO cute!
