I am very new at this, got 6 hens from my sister that was moving. I have had them for 4 months, about a month or so ago one of the hens started molting lost most her feathers on neck. They have all grown back in, but she is always puffed up and mostly just lays under the coop. She lays an eggs about every couple weeks, but the shell is so thin like paper. The other 5 are doing great. Does anyone know what could be wrong with her. My sister has never seen one act this way.
Thanks for any ideas

Just as with a human that feels unwell and doesn't feel strong enough to get out of bed, we also have no way of knowing why a hen would feel unwell without some tests and a whole lot more information so we really couldn't tell you what is making her act sick.

You could try to give her some poultry vitamins, people calcium supplement for the thin shelled eggs, and take a poop sample to a vet to have it examined for worms to see if she may need to be wormed.

Ok thank you, I thought maybe it might be something they go through after a heavy molting. She eats and drinks fine, sometimes acts just fine.
