I have 2 turkeys. We are pretty positive we have 1 male and 1 female. A couple of weeks ago, the one we think is a male has been acting different. He will randomly spread his wings out then lay on the ground for a good few minutes then get back up and act normal again. I have heard about blackhead disease but the poop seems to be normal. I dont know much about Blackhead disease though. It has also been a thought that maybe he is too hot and lays on the ground to cool off but im not sure if this is true or not. He does this many times a day. He eats normally and drinks normally. Any help is appreciated!

I just read another thread about the same idea, turned out there turkey was a she rather then a he, and was displaying mating behavior. Meaning SHE wanted a male to mate her. Is she strutting?
Im not quite sure what strutting is but I have heard that male turkeys have a "beard" and this particular turkey has a beard that only males have.

Some time has passed and I now think this weird behavior maybe similar to a chicken squatting for there first egg. We got our first ever turkey egg today. YAY! We know we have at least 1 female now. If anyone has any info on turkeys and turkey eggs please help me out!
