Odd chicken behavior?

Hi all!

A member of my six month old flock was recently under the weather. We took her inside and nursed her back to health for a few days with mashed up crumble and electrolyte water, and she seemed to be doing much better. While she was sick she was lethargic and wouldn't eat, but we found no signs of parasites or other abnormalities. After a few days she seemed much better so we put her back outside in a separate part of the coop so she could continue to recuperate (ha!). Now it's about a week later and she is eating and drinking on her own, though not as much as before, and she is much more energetic. I want to start the process of re-integrating her to the flock (though they don't seem too happy about it), but my sick chick is still acting very strange. She really does seem much healthier than she was a week ago, but she mostly just stands around! She doesn't seem to care about going outside or interacting with her surroundings. Is she still sick? Is it possible something is wrong with her brain? She did have a pretty severe head bob going on while she was sick, but that has since gone away. I don't know what to do for her and I am afraid to re-integrate her to the flock for fear that she is still contagious. I'm new at this and would love to hear what you chicken experts have to say!

Welcome to BYC. So your pullet is lethargic, not eating well, and stands around. That could be many things. If possible have a local vet check some fresh droppings for coccidia and worms. Feel of her crop for impaction or emptiness. Look at her skin around vent and elsewhere for lice or mites. Feel of her breastbone for loss of weight. Offer some chopped egg, vitamins in her feed or water, and look for abnormal droppings.
