My chicks are due to hatch on the 21st May, so they are all in the final stages of incubation. I originally popped in 7 Isabella Brahman eggs, and I monitored 6 that continued to grow naturally (1 egg was unfortunately not viable). It isn't until recently that when candling the eggs, I have noticed 5 out of the 6 exhibit a dark mass (what is expected) but the last one has not grown as much? Should I be concerned for the wellbeing of this chick?

The first image is a healthy chick (a dark mass).
The second image is the chick of concern.

Thanks for the help!

That is quite a difference!! There is good veining...movement?
We monitored movement a couple days ago but today moving is limited. Nonetheless, there is definitely a chick kicking around in there. Will have to keep a close eye on them. WHEN they hatch I'd imagine they'll be the last one out of the batch.

I agree....lockdown tomorrow?
Possibly. Was planning on having lockdown on Saturday but if you suggest going a day earlier that’s alright on my watch. Funny thing is, I didn’t have a hatching mat or water pot guard so resorted to some DIY work. Worked a treat!

I'd be checking the incubator for cold spots with one so radically different to the others.
Interesting, that egg seems to be closest to where the window is, too. However, there isn't an obvious draft and the incubator's external temperature alarm hasn't let of any signals. How would you suggest I check for cold spots?

UPDATE: Have just moved radically different egg to the other side of the incubator, swapping it with the egg that is not viable. Will monitor any significance/positive change of the chick!
