I don't think he was caring for those birds that great then.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But it was only those six that were small, undernourished. I'm not sure what went on there. All of them also were terrified of humans. But I don't get it, this breed is so friendly. What could you do to them to make them hate humans so much?

They were probably just not handled. Chicks will be like that unless handled often.

Handling is key. I have a silkie that wasn’t handled as a chick, and I could probably say she’s the chicken that hates humans the most out of the entire flock, even though silkies are supposed to be friendly. It doesn’t always depend on the breed. The more you handle them, usually, the more friendly they will be.
