Nic nodded. "Yes mam'. I'm sure I'll get used to you. someday.""Y'all are just gonna have to get used to me though. I am not changing my attitude for anything. My advice: You just gotta let it roll off your back."
Eclipse watched the gathering in silence for a few moments, her mind drifting. She wondered how Sol was doing back at the lot, and she hoped he hadn't done anything dumb like try to leave or walk too much. She also hoped Bloodmoon was getting on fine with the others.Nic nodded. Bloodmoon jumped as he heard Eclipse talk to him. Smart dragon. He opened his eyes and cleared his throat. "Hey there Sol, I'm Bloodmoon. Eclipse told me that she would keep us updated on the meeting. But till they start, I would like to know you." He winced. Oof Bloodmoon. I think he can tell I'm an introvert. Actually, when he thought of it. This was the most he had spoken since... He shook himself. Don't think about that. He thought of starry skies to clear his mind.Try talking to Sol, get to know him. Make sure he doesn't hurt himself. Tell him I will keep you both updated on the meeting.
"When'd you get here, dude?" Sol asked, sitting up and squinting at the black dragon. The black, scarred dragon. Sol winced.Bloodmoon jumped as he heard Eclipse talk to him. Smart dragon. "Oh!" The RainWing yelped. "Oh, my, I'm sorry, my name is Qi'ra!"Eclipse watched the gathering in silence for a few moments, her mind drifting. She wondered how Sol was doing back at the lot, and she hoped he hadn't done anything dumb like try to leave or walk too much. She also hoped Bloodmoon was getting on fine with the others.
As she sat there staring through the growing crowd, her mind wandered further, to the group who had been with her when she first arrived. She hadn't seen any of them in a couple of days. Neoma had apparently already been in the arena once. At least now Eclipse knew she was taking care of herself. Helios, on the other talon, she worried for. He still had hardly seen Sol since arriving in the Den, and who knew what the humans had planned for him? He could end up killed before he was able to reunite with his son. Sunspot, however, Eclipse could hardly feel sympathy for. The impulsive Solarwing was getting what she had had coming for a long time. Eclipse had only delayed her inevitable capture by saving her from the Nightwings, and in return, Sunspot had gotten all four of them dragged into this viper pit.
Her mind continued to drift, outside the Scorpion Den and further.
For a moment, Eclipse closed her eyes and tried to pull the memory of it over her like a thick blanket. Smelling the sea spray from the cliff, and the cool moisture from the forest foliage. Seeing the stars and the moons, sometimes full, sometimes new, and the ocean mimicking their sterling light. The silver-tainted grass and white cliff stones. Soaking it all in.
Feeling the cool scales sliding over her own like icy glass. She felt safe. Protected.
She was jerked out of the memory when the Rainwing beside her started talking again, and she opened her eyes, trying to retrace her previous thoughts. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name," she interrupted gently. In her head, she focused on her thoughts, hoping Bloodmoon could hear her from this distance.
Try talking to Sol, get to know him. Make sure he doesn't hurt himself. Tell him I will keep you both updated on the meeting.
"Um, I've been here for 1 or 2 days. You were just, um, out of it.""When'd you get here, dude?" Sol asked, sitting up and squinting at the black dragon. The black, scarred dragon. Sol winced.
"Oh." Sol cocked his head with a stupid look. "So then-.. are you, like, staying he-" Tobias' phone rang, vibrating loudly against the cage. "Dude, can you get that?""Um, I've been here for 1 or 2 days. You were just, um, out of it."
"Uh, yeah." Bloodmoon picked up the phone clumblsy and pressed the miniscule button. "Hi, this is Bloodmoon.""Oh." Sol cocked his head with a stupid look. "So then-.. are you, like, staying he-" Tobias' phone rang, vibrating loudly against the cage. "Dude, can you get that?"
Sol snorted, pushing himself off the ground and limping towards the NightWing, laughing breathily."Uh, yeah." Bloodmoon picked up the phone clumblsy and pressed the miniscule button. "Hi, this is Bloodmoon."
