Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

She thought for a moment, remembering a broadcasting of the fight a little while back, a Lunarwing against a few rebel Rainwings she new fairly well. “I believe she fought a day or so ago, but I haven’t heard much else. A fight was scheduled today for that Solarwing King. Sounds like it was going to be between him and Bloodmoon, but they must have a new opponent because, well, ya know-..Bloodmoons in hiding apparently.” She said, her apartment nearing as they finally got out of the poor part of that section of the city. “The Scientists Guild had said something about studying Lunarwings and their abilities, but unless they somehow bought her I don’t see why she wouldn’t be in one of the lots. I would think anyone that’s not Mr. Tobias would show off their new prized dragon instead of hiding it away.” She reassured, noticing Tobias and raising her wing slightly to add more shadow to the famous humans face.
Eclipse turned her head slightly to look at Tobias. "Can we at least check the truck yard and see? After we leave Rose's lab of course. But if even one of them is still there, I need to talk to them." She hoped he could see the resolve on her face.
"Dude-" Tobias started, "I really don't think they're in the truck yard anymore." He shook his head, "Besides, I don't want to be seen. If I'm seen out here, and stuff gets messy, I compromise my alibi."
Tobias pulled the cowl of his trenchcoat up higher, reaching for a pair of shades in his coat pocket. "Don't give me crud, I'm definitely not paranoid or anything." He smirked at Eclipse, pushing the green aviators against the bridge of his nose.
"K, where are we going? How far out is your place?" He repositioned his hat, glancing at Rose.

Eclipse gave Tobias an exasperated snort and shook her head. "You're not even going to try," she muttered under her breath. "Can't you at least ask around and find out where they are? I'm sure word will have spread by now. Whoever ended up with the other Lunarwing or the King of the Solarwings? People will hear about it. Don't you dare tell me you could get in trouble for simply asking."

"I don't ask stuff." Tobias announced in a bored tone. "Look, what's the harm in waiting til tonight? Shoot, I'll just look up the recent sales, if it would appease your wishes, pal." He reached for his phone, his mind wandering back to Sol and the crew back in the lot. He stole another look at Eclipse. "It's fine." Tobias sighed, his tone lightening as he scrolled through recent sales, hoping they would be recent enough that he wouldn't have to specify dragon type. "I'll find out where they went."

Eclipse didn't say anything for a long moment, watching Tobias swipe his finger over the chat device without breaking stride. She kept expecting the human to trip and fall or start to walk in the wrong direction, but somehow, his pace stayed steady and his direction didn't shift from where they were going. She was starting to think that the chat devices were used for more than just talking into. She paused a moment longer before finally breaking the silence. "How will that thing help you find them?"

Tobias took a deep breath. "Uhm, it updates you." He saved his hand with a vague expression. "Oh, oh, ah-ha, right here." He stopped scrolling, pointing with his thumb as he leaned toward Eclipse. "K, look more depressed." Tobias muttered as Eclipse straightened in interest. "You're supposed to look defeated or something." He scrolled below the image. "Buyer... oh, your stupid lucky, it's Kidd Raee." He waved his hand dismissively, "He's just this big investors, easy resale. I know the guy. Not that we'd have to buy him, uhm, Helios- we should be able to free him tonight."

You most certainly will not be shooting anyone…unless they get in our way.” She said with a quiet laugh. They arrived at the doors leading out of the Maze and Rose paused, “don’t act like you’re free Eclipse. I-…I know it’s hard but that’s the way it is in the city, there aren’t many Freeborn dragons and there are certainly no lunarwings. Maybe try and seem…like you’ve submitted.”
She asked/ told the silver dragon.
You understand?” She asked kindly, wanting to make sure they were on the same page.

Can’t use fire, unless I wanna turn those keys into molten mouthwash. Helios lunged forward and slashed his wing tip thru the air, narrowly missing Crest. He watched as the crowd cheered, their bloodlust cries filling his ears. The sails on the old kings back glowed brightly, his whole body becoming engulfed in flames. He slowly advanced across the sand like a snake in the desert, leaving glassy footprints on the arena floor. Melted sand dripped from his talons, globules of liquid glass instantly hardening into tear shaped crystals and tinkling like a wind chime on the hard parts of the fighting rings floor. Helios flared his wings and stood up tall, bringing himself to his full height and roaring louder then his opponent before the two faced each other. He leaped toward Crest and made it look as if he’d rip him to shreds, but subtly opening his wings slightly more, acting as a parachute and slowing himself down enough for crest to maneuver out of the way.
The solarwing king slid across the floor and let out a roar that dwarfed his. The solarwing king truly is a powerful dragon, Crest thought as he tensed for the attack. He saw the sand kick up behind the powerful dragon as he leapt and held his breath, not quite sure yet what to do. Then the powerful wings of the solarwing opened and slowed the attack slightly. Crest's instincts kicked in and he rolled to his right, the king's claws barely missing him. The sand ground against his scales as his back slid along the ground and out of the way of Helios. Crest could feel the heat emanating off of the dragon. It was like the pain still came even though Crest avoided touching the skin. His scales had dried out in the area closest to the flaming dragon, but Crest ignored the feeling. He focused on making the maneuver look convincing.
Using his momentum, Crest rolled back onto his feet and threw his wings open. Hovering over the ground, he brought his tail around and threw a cloud of sand into the king's face. I'm sorry, you're highness.... he thought.

Not that we'd have to buy him, uhm, Helios- we should be able to free him tonight."
Eclipse let her shoulders droop again, forcing her tail to stay limp against the ground as her interest caused it to start to twitch again. "Good. That's one down," she whispered, keeping her head low. "Do you know how to find out what happened to Sunspot and Neoma?"

Blackout stared as the human sat up, fully healed.
His eyes shifted to Whitestar. The Icewing looked almost afraid of something.
Blackout stepped around the human, who was also staring in surprise. He whapped him gently with his tail again, a silent command; stay.
Blackout slowly approached the white dragon. In his mind, he was shocked. He hadn't seen an Animus maybe ever. This was an incredible development, and he was both shocked and excited about it.
But he pushed it out of his mind as he laid a talon on Whitestar's frigid scales.
"Good job." He said quietly. "You did the right thing." He moved his talon and stood close to the Icewing, knowing just being a companion would be better than trying to offer all sorts of words.
His mind was spinning. An Animus????
It explained a little bit of why Whitestar was so concerned to do certain things; he didn't want to endanger himself or anyone else.
The whole soul-draining thing would be enough for anyone to worry about using their powers, let alone an already concerned Icewing.
He snapped out of his mental trance and glanced at Austin. The hunter was staring in surprise at the human who had just been healed by a dragon. He answered the unspoken question.
"We care. No matter the life, we care." His voice was missing it's normal edge that it held when he spoke to Austin.
For a moment, Blackout looked at Austin with almost a certain pity. He had been raised to think a certain way, and it was clear with how Austin acted around others.
Blackout shook his head now. No. No pity for this human.
No matter how you're raised, you can always choose better than you were taught, he thought.
Austin watched as the dragons conversed, his mind automatically translating. Blackout moved from guarding him towards the icy dragon but not before taking another moment to whack Austin with his tail. Just like a child....so petty. No wonder you couldn't act civilized without our influence. Blackout placed a claw comfortingly on the ice dragon's shoulder, whispered something to the icewing, and answered the question that Austin hadn't spoken. "We care. No matter the life, we care."
He'd expected some sort of snarky comment from the dragon, but the tone of his voice almost seemed...sincere. Never....they could never be. But....could they? No! They could never be! They're monsters. He pushed the kind thoughts that he'd had about the dragons out of his mind and instead fixed the black dragon with a stare and raised his eyebrow questioningly. He began to think over his options. He could try to run, but the dragons would catch him too quickly, and they would probably kill him on the spot this time. He couldn't fight his way out with no weapons, but maybe.....
His gaze drifted towards the young girl who was excitedly speaking to the dragon who had tried to help her in the first place. He couldn't make out what she was saying, but he could tell by her excited tones that she was passionate about what she was saying. Very excited...I wonder if she even knows what these creatures can do.
He walked towards her, determined to get her on his side. Part of him was also genuinely curious to why she was hanging around dragons. Glancing quickly to the other dragons, he held up his hands in a peaceful manner. He didn't plan on doing anything.
Yet. The dragons seemed to be in their own conversation so Austin continued.
As he got closer, he noticed more of her features. Her long black hair was a mess, but was still almost pretty. Her face was strong with a gentle touch. But, he almost gasped at her eyes. They were so blue. Beautifully and strikingly blue. And, they were almost...dragon-like. How can a human have such dragon-like eyes? They were innocent and sweet. He almost felt bad for planning on using her to escape, but he pushed it away realizing that this was his only chance.
He approached her and smiled, "I see you're feeling better." He hoped he wasn't forcing his kind tone.
A confused and skeptical look swept across her face, but it was quickly replaced by her excitement , "Yes, yes actually I am! A lot better!" The glow in her eyes was contagious and Austin started to smile a genuine smile.
He laughed a little and took a step closer to her, but one look at the dragons made him halt in his tracks. Bad idea. He instead looked back at the girl and introduced himself, "My name is Austin. May I ask yours?"

Alyssia had been staring at the icy dragon, but could see it was making him uncomfortable, so she averted her gaze. He healed me, what's the big deal! she thought as she looked at everyone around her still staring at him. She shrugged and walked over to Apple, her excitement almost bubbling over. "Apple! Look!" she blushed and hastily corrected herself. "I mean! Feel, sorry!" She had Apple run her scaly hands across the before wounded arm and proceeded to tell her how strong she felt now. Bamboo's dragonic voice seemed to be saying something important to Apple and Alyssia ceased trying to talk to Apple. They all seemed so serious at this point. Why! Be happy! Whitestar healed me!
She heard a mature voice from behind her speak, not dragon, but English. She spun around to see the hunter making his way towards her. Her first instinct was to run from him, but he seemed friendly in his approach. Maybe he's not all that bad after all. With that she started to feel bad about capturing him. They started talking and Alyssia noticed his messy blonde hair and dusty outfit. She examined his strong face and eventually came to his eyes. She looked deeply into them. You can almost see someone's soul from their eyes.... she recalled the wisdom that sat on her refrigerator at home. Her parents told her that her brother had said when he was young. They thought it was cute and put it on the fridge, but Alyssia had cherished it in her heart and had used it to try and peer into people's heart and soul.
She held eye contact with the young hunter and noticed the hazel eyes. The greenish/gray rims faded into a more stony gray until that faded into a darker brown which surrounded the pupil. They were almost mesmerizing and she tried to make out emotions. She could see hurt, but also deception and....something else. Loss? Lack of love? She was taken from her thoughts by his inquiry of her being ok. She responded emphatically and they began talking. She noticed his glance over at the dragons and she looked too, genuinely curious to what they would do.
"My name is Austin. May I ask yours?" his firm voice asked.
Alyssia smiled widely, "Yes of course! I'm Alyssia. Alyssia Evaw." She saw his smile and she glowed with success. Yes! He trusts me! And, he's not all that mean. Maybe he'll even choose to help us.
Then came his next question. "Alyssia," he spoke smoothly, "why do you stay around these dragons? I mean, obviously, they're not trying to kill you, so why don't you just leave them?"
She paused and thought about her answer for a moment. Do I tell him about the plan? Do I tell him about trying to break out other dragons from the Scorpion Den? She thought more about it. The real meaning behind what he'd said finally kicking in. Why don't I leave them? Why do I try to help them? She shook her head a little, getting her mind back on track, but it was immediately diverted again by a slight chill in the breeze that she felt. She could tell Austin felt it too because of the way he shook slightly. She looked back at Whitestar and saw him holding a pendant and giving it to Bamboo. "What on earth?" she said aloud, walking closer to Whitestar and the others, leaving Austin standing there and assuming that the dragons would take care of him if he tried to escape.
