Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Phoenix quit glaring at Corvus for a moment to look back at King. “No, no it’s not your fault. Thank you for helping me, King.”

She noticed the blue CloudWing looked a little crestfallen, and wondered why.

She shot Corvus a look what you did, look, feeling irritated.
King glanced at Corvus. “Was that jealousy? Of course it was….” He thought to himself, and began wordlessly flying toward the village, the two Cloudwings in tow.

Eclipse watched Neoma swoop around in the air for a moment before dropping back to the ground. Sunspot was finally finishing her antelope and the sun was nearly in the center of the sky. Eclipse stood up and stretched again, pointing her wings straight in the air and flapping them a few times.
"Let's go," she said, pacing away from the tunnel slope onto the open sand. She scanned the sky momentarily, ensuring no Nightwing hunters were on patrol. She wouldn't have been surprised, after the "incident" the day before. But the sky was clear. The warm air resonating off the sand would make it easier to glide longer without having to spend too much energy staying airborne.
"Stay close, and try not to draw any unwanted attention. If you see any Nightwings tell me. We will rest once we get to the coast--if all goes well, the sun will just be setting by then."
She swished her tail through the sand as she instructed the other two, then lept into the air, beating her wings to rise over the desert before gliding in the direction of the sea.
Helios had been flying by himself for what seemed like months, only talking to random Cloudwings and a few Skywings and Sandwings. So when he noticed a trio of dragons near the desert, he began flying in big lazy circles, trying to figure out what they were. Two of them appeared to be either an off white or a silver color, maybe royal Cloudwings? And one was a bright orange with hints of yellow and red.
Could it be? Out here in the middle of nowhere? Probably just a colorful Cloudwing being banished or something…..worth a closer look.” Helios mused. He trailed them for miles, hoping to catch up enough to know for certain what they were but stay hidden at the same time.

Sunspot followed grudgingly, her wings catching the sun. She could tell that Eclipse was happy to be going, the tension beginning to leave her wings.

Neoma wheeled around and around as she followed the other two. She wasn’t totally sure where they were headed, but she was ready to go see some more sights.
“So- I passed some sort of den with humans around it. Is that where we’re heading?” She asked.

King glanced at Corvus. “Was that jealousy? Of course it was….” He thought to himself, and began wordlessly flying toward the village, the two Cloudwings in tow.
Corvus looked silently at King as the big CloudWing flew in front of him. He’d really wanted to like King. But Corvus had hated the way he looked at Phoenix.

He glanced over at Phoenix. Irritated sparks popped off her feathers, and she looked resolutely at the ground below.

She’ll live. Corvus thought, trying to stamp out his guilt.

The silence stretched on, filled with… tension? Either way, Corvus despised it.

“Heh- yeah, you raise a good question,” Sunspot said, flying ahead of Neoma to talk to Eclipse. “So- where exactly are we going?” she questioned, raising one eyebrow.

King flew them down to the lake, deciding doing some fishing might cheer everyone up. It certainly always made him feel happier. He spotted a few fish and dove in without hesitation, surfacing with a mouthful of perch and even a lone salmon. He motioned for either one of them to give it a try with a movement of his head, trying to lighten the mood.

Eclipse tensed. She had been trying to figure out a good lie to tell the two of them since she'd woken up that morning. So far, none of them seemed too convincing. If Sunspot even suspected for one second that Eclipse wasn't telling the truth, she would never be able to hide what the real reason for being there was. Not without being forced to end their temporary alliance..
"No, we aren't heading to the Scorpion Den--that's the structure you saw," she answered Neoma first, buying a few seconds to run through her possible responses to Sunspot.
"We were headed that way last night though, before you attacked us. But it's not safe to try and sneak in, especially during the day. But I have somewhere important I have to be soon, and it's quite the trip. I don't have time to wait till tonight to try and sneak in again."
She paused for a long moment before answering Sunspot.
"I have... resources... that I need to see. Someone with inside information that can help me with this Nightwing issue. But I can only see them so often, and the location changes every time. So, I have to be there, or I may lose my contact."
Eclipse could only hope it sounded true.

Helios was closer now, trying to stay low so the dunes hid him most of the time. He was thinking he might’ve gone crazy, or it really was two Lunarwings and a Solarwing traveling together.
Lunarwings!”
He unlocked his wings so he could maneuver around the dunes better and lessened the fire in his scales so his glowing red presence was less noticeable.
