Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Phoenix was a little crestfallen, but she smiled as King floundered in the water. "I'm not much of a water dragon," she said, looking down at her claws.
King laughed and flipped over backwards, the water rolling off his hydrophobic feathers. “Hey Corvus! Come on in! It’s great!” He shouted, smiling and waving him down.

Corvus frowned and landed beside Phoenix, sticking one claw in the water and hastily shaking it off.

Neoma noticed the slight change in Eclipse's behavior and noted it mentally. Eclipse may have been lying, but honestly, she wasn't that worried. She was going to continue along as though she hadn't noticed, she knew she could get away in time. She flew faster, overtaking the other two for a minute. Neoma dove downward in front of them, then swooped up again in front of them, slowing herself so that she and Sunspot almost collided. When she could feel the heat on her scales, she zipped forward again, chuckling to herself.
"If we're gonna be flying, might as well enjoy it right?" She shouted.
She sped downward again, flying a few feet above the sand. She turned her neck enough to call to the others, "C'mon! Have fun!"
Even though she had practically tried to kill both of them only a day or so ago, she could tell they were both a little tight in their behavior, especially Eclipse. This was her first time in ages being with other dragons, and all of a sudden she was enjoying it, past animosity and all.
Eclipse quietly let out the breath she hadn't noticed she'd been holding. If the other two suspected anything, they didn't seem too concerned. Hopefully, they wouldn't press it further, and the three of them could make it to the island and back without Sunspot or Neoma ever having to find out why they were really there. Eclipse hated that she would have to cut her meeting short in order to keep up with her lie, but if it meant keeping the secret safe, she was going to deal with it. She had already begun to put together a plan for when they got there and was starting to feel a little more confident that she could actually pull this off. Timing was everything. She had to be brief--however much it pained her--and she would have to act casual. I can make this work, she thought with a deep breath, staring determined out toward the horizon in front of them. She could see the rocky terrain of the Ice Kingdom border beginning to appear towards the north, and soon the ocean would begin to come into view as well.
Below her, Neoma swooped and spiraled gleefully, as though she didn't have a care in the world. For a moment, Eclipse was beginning to wish she had left her behind in the rainforest after all. The Lunarwing seemed perfectly fine despite her injuries, and Eclipse was starting to worry she might draw attention from any possible Nightwing patrols.
"C'mon! Have fun!" Neoma called up to her, and Eclipse glanced around anxiously.
"Keep it down will you," she responded edgily.

“Yeah, ya know or not. That’s fine too.” King said as he climbed out beside them. “What’d you think of the Nest? I assume that’s where you were.”
“It’s a cool little place,” said Corvus, shaking out his feathers. He was w suddenly hyper-aware of the fact that King was a good bit taller than him. And less scrawny. And more handsome. Ughhhh. You’re overthinking this. Stop making it weird.

Subspot dove after Neoma, her wing blades catching the air easily to execute complicated acrobatics. The wind whistled in her wings, a high pitched noise. She shot a burst of flame and dove through it, smoke trailing off her wingtips.

“So how’d you two meet?” King asked, shaking the remaining water droplets off and curling up on the warm pebble beach. The sun had been shining for a good while and the stoney shore was a perfect basking spot.

The trio was getting harder to keep track of, spiraling through the sky and all. Helios strained his eyes to see, catching a glimpse of them here and there.
The two Lunarwings seemed to be fading into the heatwaves, like a mirage swallowing them whole. The Solarwing was helping him to keep track of them at least, a whistling was coming from her wings and a trail of thin smoke gave her away. “Where are they going? Away from the scorpion den is what it looks like….is it worth it? No, if Sol is in that horrid, torturous dragon trap…then I’ve got to get to him.” Helios thought determinedly. “Maybe if I just catch up and ask them a few questions….maybe that Solarwing will help me?” His mind went from one thing to the next, he really wanted to follow them, but he also really really needed to rescue Sol. If he was even still alive.

Turning slightly again to shout up at Eclipse, Neoma said, "I can keep it down. But can you keep up?" She gave a harder flap of her wings, knowing she was probably not being smart. But honestly, it might be best to make someone let loose for a moment.
Of course, if they let loose too much, they could end up in the same afterlife as Kyler... Neoma sighed and slowed herself, ascending again to fly next to Eclipse. "Look, I don't know why you're so uptight honestly. I know I kinda messed up when I attacked you, but I'm willing to put that aside right now. I thought you were someone else, and at the moment, the main bitterness I hold against you is for wounding me." She laughed dryly.
"So I'm going to place it in the back of my mind if you will too. For now, let yourself do something you haven't in a long time. I'm willing to work together for what you need, as long it doesn't pose a threat to my life or to the lives of others. And in return, I could use a little help tracking someone down. Namely, the dragon I thought I was attacking when I went after you. Deal? And when you answer, remember this deal also makes us equals, not a prisoner and keeper."
Before Eclipse could respond, something caught Neoma's attention in the corner of her eye. It looked like the figure of a large dragon flying after them nearby.... But it was gone almost as soon as she saw it. Must be a heat mirage, she thought, shaking her head slightly.

"I found Corvus and his flock three years ago after I ran away from home," Phoenix said, spreading her wings across the pebbles to bask in the sun. She wasn't sure why she was telling King this, but it felt good to share with somebody other than Corvus.

Sunspot watched the two LunarWings converse, still flying ahead of them. Neoma seemed to be trying her best to make up with Eclipse, but the real question was wether Eclipse would accept the apology.

A flash of light caught her eye, and she could see Neoma noticed it too. Neoma quickly dismissed it, but Sunspot slowed, her eyes narrowing. "Did you guys see that?"
