Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Phoenix sighed, watching Robin go. "Corvus will be fine." she said. "He just likes to sulk and mope and brood. I don't know why he's being this way."

(Three MOONS a lot happened)

Sunspot heard a faint ringing in her ears that became increasingly more intense and annoying. She opened her eyes, her vision focusing, and unfocusing again. She blinked and groaned. She froze for a moment. Her snout felt weighed down, and she looked down to see a shiny metal band wrapped around it, trapping her mouth shut.

The memories of the past two days rushed back to her. The fight. Helios. Eclipse and Neoma.

A surge of sudden panic flooded through Sunspot's scales, and she shot to her feet, instantly collapsing onto her side, crashing into cage bars, her legs failing to support her. Her muscles felt numb and heavy, and her brain seemed filled with fog.

The orange SolarWing squeezed her eyes shut for a few seconds, focusing. She opened them again. Okay. Look around.

Sunspot looked around her. She seemed to be in a room filled with cages. Cages filled with dragons. No. Eclipse lay in the cage next to her, the silver dragon covering her head.

Humans scurried around, yelling at each other in tones unintelligible to Sunspot. And another very odd thing. A tall crimson SolarWing, who she initially thought was Helios, crouched in front of Eclipse, speaking to her in soft tones. A human with pale hair crouched there also, seeming to be conversing with the SolarWing. Why was this dragon free?? Why was he talking to a human???

She turned and sniffed at her wounded leg. It smelled of sharp chemicals, and the hole was closed by black stitches. It must have been treated while she slept.

Sunspot, for the first time she could remember, felt scared. She had no idea what was going to happen. She just hoped she would make it out alive.
Thanks Kiwi!

Crest laid in his cage, one leg crossed over the other and his head resting on the cold metal. Nothing moved except for his eyes as he watched the new dragons that were pulled in the night before. Two silver dragons and two orange ones. All night he'd wondered how in the world lunarwings could actually exist. They'd always been seen as a myth. He'd also been staring at the large solarwing, trying to figure out where he'd seen this dragon before.
he stared as a smaller solarwing that looked like the larger one walked into the clearing. He'd heard about this one from other dragons. This solarwing was one of the best fighters in the Scorpion Den. He watched the solarwing converse with the lunarwing. Listening to their conversation, he tried to hide the shock when he head who this solarwing was. Sol?! And that other solarwing is his majesty, King Helios! How dare they bring royalty such as them into a filthy city such as this. He heard everything the blonde man standing next to Sol was saying. Fighting to the death?
Finally, they had left and he looked around at the others in the cages. He felt bad for them. Just the day before he had felt the same way. He was a little more used to this place now, but he was still new. Being in the sea one second and then waking up in this place is definitely a shocking experience. Closing his eyes he recalled the events from a couple of days ago. Swimming freely in the water and patrolling the perimeter of the Sea Kingdom. He saw the human girl skiing on the water and had followed her a little ways, making sure that she was truly innocent. He saw her on the rock and eventually they had locked eyes...and he saw the same eyes that he had seen before in the water. The sea blue...the same as his sisters. The nightwings had attacked and he had tried defending her but then he was brought here- The Dragon Den. He'd thought that this place, like the lunarwings, was a myth, but he had all too well found out how real it was.
He hadn't gotten auctioned the night before because of an injury they had given him. While he was in his cage, a human girl came tearing through on a bike and he recognized her as the girl from the sea. He made a ruckus to help her escape, but had paid for it dearly as they shocked him with electricity, the effect being doubled due to him being a seawing.
Now, he lay, his injury still aching slightly, but he ignored it. He was ready to be active, ready to escape and get back to his kingdom and back to his duties. But first, he had to find that human and bring her back to her home as well. Why do I care about getting her back? he thought to himself. She's just a human girl. He thought about her again. The eyes were exactly like Minami's. He thought about them and felt a strange connection with the small girl. I couldn't protect her so maybe I can protect this one... Lifting his head, he looked at the lunarwings again, wondering what could be going through their heads.
Thinking about it he realized that it was probably the same thing going through his head. Whether or not they would be auctioned off tonight.

Despite his attempt to act as calm and slow as possible, Whitestar couldn't help but jump a little as the human spoke. He lifted his head and stared at the creature with wide ice-blue eyes before regaining his composure and softening his expression. It was striking how dragon-like the little human's eyes were, and he could almost swear that there was emotion churning in their blue depths. He hesitated a moment, staring at the scavenger. "Hello..." he said, somewhat awkwardly. "I... didn't know you could speak," Was that dumb? he thought, running a talon over his snout. Yeah, that definitely sounded dumb.
She tried to translate what the white dragon was saying, and she was confident with her ending translation. I definitely should've paid a lot more attention in my dragonese class. she thought. She laughed a little at the startled look on his face. She didn't think a dragon could ever be startled by a human. He stared into his eyes. The icy blue was mesmerizing. She could see emotions there. Maybe sadness and hurt. But, also kindness. The sight of them calmed her a little and she stood fully, still looking at the dragon. "Yes, I speak dragon... some. Not too good at it. My name Alyssia." She took a step towards him, her curiosity overwhelming her sense of fear. She tilted her head innocently and stared deeper into his eyes. "You?"

Whitestar chuckled lightly. Her Dragon was terrible. But her notions were innocent and cute. It took him a minute to understand her words with the high-pitched accent and shallow pronunciation, but he understood the introduction. He repeated the sound, probably the English version of the name. It probably sounded much deeper and rumbling than it was supposed to, but he took it. He wished he knew at least some of the human language. In the Ice Kingdom, when he was young, they were taught some of the less used languages like the Ancients from Pantala, but humans were shamed and frowned upon. Their language was not considered worth learning. Now he wished that ideology were different.
Shaking off the memories, he focused his gaze on Alyssia again. She gave him an inquiring look and gave a very vague inquiry. He smiled and sat gently on the bank, winding his tail neatly over his talons.
"Whitestar," he repeated in Dragon, with a small sideways smile.

She laughed a little at the way he pronounced her name. The low rumble sounding odd saying her name in English.
"Whitestar," she tried in Dragon. "I like it." Then she corrected herself and spoke in Dragonese, "Name good." She smiled widely. I'm talking in Dragonese! I'm talking to a dragon! This is so neat! She gasped a little as the dragon sat straight. It was larger than she had thought. His reflection shimmering in the water beautifully. She decided to try another sentence. "What...are you?" She face palmed as she heard herself speak the words. "That sounded so bad," she muttered in English. Trying to specify she corrected, "Kind of dragon. Type of dragon." She hoped the message got across to the white dragon. She laughed a little to herself and waited for the response.

Whitestar had to admit, the little creature was rather entertaining. The longer they talked, the more relaxed he felt. He had never really encountered humans, but from what he knew, dragons assumed that all humans were bad. Perhaps with good reason, but maybe, it was okay for things to change a little. Maybe not all of them were the same. He paused a long moment trying to make out her words. "Ice," he said simply, understanding her difficulty translating his words. He turned his head toward the pool and blew a gentle stream of frost breath onto the surface. Ice crystals shot over the water's top, freezing instantly and spreading, before slowing and finally stopping, forming a small patch of hazy ice over the water. Already, it was beginning to polish and melt from the desert heat and humidity.

(Phoenix sighed, watching Robin go. "Corvus will be fine." she said. "He just likes to sulk and mope and brood. I don't know why he's being this way." ) (that quote messed up lol. Also, it’s been a day for the desert group and time hasn’t passed in The Grebes Nest. We might wanna make that happen so it’s not confusing, so we’ll have to skip to morning for King, Phoenix and Corvus and Robin. Soon at least )

King nodded in a friendly, understanding way. “I know….gaah I’m such a jerk. Imma have to have a talk with him, maybe we’ll work things out..” he thought with a stab of guilt.

After catching several fish and helping Phoenix learn how to as well, the two of them eventually found their way back to the village. The sunset cast a brilliant array of pinks and oranges, mixed with the dark blue of the evening sky trying to take over. The mountain village was like a scene from a dream, a safe haven like no one had ever imagined. Even the depths of the lake shone with beauty, the underwater Riverwing village was always a grand sight.
“We’ve got a spot in the village you can stay.” King said, breaking the silence. “Usually it’s for the occasional Solarwing hatchlings we break outa the compounds, we keep ‘em in the village cuz they need more attention. But they don’t tend to stay very long after growing up a bit, apparently they like to live…alone.” He began saying before realizing what he was saying. “Phoenix was half Solarwing, and she ran away from her group. Might not wanna bring that up.” He reminded himself. “Anyway, you can stay there if you’d like. Corvus can stay with my team…or with you, ya know, it doesn’t matter.” He said in his best, “I’m acting completely normal” voice.
