Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Eclipse let out a loud snarl and lunged at the edge of the cage again, reaching a talon between the bars to slash at a nearby human. The creature jumped and backed up, then continued waving on the strange transporter that had backed into the enclosed area. Eclipse crouched low in her cage hissing loudly as the machine continued, moving her small enclosure with it on a large iron base. The building was well lit with more of the unnaturally bright white lights hanging in the ceiling and cages lined the two side walls. All of the ones here had dragons, and they were perfectly marked and spaced to fit new ones in between.
The transport turned and began backing toward one of the walls. Eclipse circled in her cage and swatted at more of the humans whenever they were within reach. The machine finally stopped and several of the humans scurried to the back, grabbing at the long metal ramp that had folded beneath the flatbed. Eclipse snarled again and slashed at them once more, nearly catching a smaller one by the head. Something stabbed into her side, and pain erupted through her scales and into her wing, the jolt knocking her legs from beneath her. She let out a muffled yelp as she collapsed to the floor. One of the scavengers clipped a small hook onto the side of the cage facing the wall. An iron cable ran from the metal catch to a rounded crank embedded in the wall. Eclipse growled again and began to stand up, when suddenly the cage jerked and began to slide forward, pulled by the cable wench. She stumbled and crouched to the floor to keep herself from slamming into the bars as the cage slid into place beside the others. The transport pulled hastily away, steering towards the large door in the side of the building. Eclipse stood there for a long moment, her tail thrashing as she took in her surroundings. There were maybe only 7 other dragons with her, and enough room to fit 4 more. She wondered if Sunspot, Helios, or Neoma would end up in this new place as well. It would be a funny coincidence for the younger Solarwing to end up in the empty space next to Eclipse. Perhaps she could give her a good nick for getting them caught and trapped here in the first place.
Off to her other side, a large doorless entrance opened up to a massive, circular arena. A balcony wrapped all the way around on the same level as the room she was in, and she could see three more of the rooms with cages spaced evenly around them. Beneath that, circular rows of seats encircled the entire perimeter of the space below, steps descending from breaks in the rail of the balcony. Hanging a little ways below the lowest benches, a giant chainlink dome encircled the large sandy arena at the bottom, and a lone iron pole stood in the center, supporting the mass of iron chain. Around the edges of the arena, large iron doors were embedded in the walls beneath the seats. Eclipse assumed they were for keeping dragons to fight.
The sun was beginning to sink now, casting a warm orange haze over the Den, but the giant blazing lights that stood above the arena chased most of it away. Eclipse could see a few groups of humans beginning to settle into the benches that surrounded the battleground, others wandering between the cage rooms. She let out a long breath and slid to the floor of her cage, staring out at the ugly scene. The more time she spent in these human's presence, the more disgusted she was by their way of life.
She was so caught up in her thoughts, that she nearly missed the scavenger that wandered into the room. But the familiar sound of his loud boots echoing through the building alerted her to his presence.
Love this- is she IN the arena yet? Or just bale to view from where she is?

"Ice" she translated more easily. She watched in amazement as he blew frost over the pond and it began to freeze. Eyes going wide, she stooped over like a child and began to touch the ice on the pond, her curiosity spilling over. The ice was chilly to her touch, but it was quickly melting into the pond. She racked her brain, but she could only remember hearing a little about them in her classes at school. Her knowledge of them was severely limited. Her head spun back to the dragon, curiosity and excitement shining through the majestic sea blue. "Good! Love that!" she exclaimed in dragon. I never thought I would get a chance to see an ice dragon. This is so cool! She took a step closer to him so that they were an arm's length away. She looked up into his eyes again. "Why you here? You ice. This hot land," she inquired.
Whitestars expression darkened at the scavenger's question. His rest and then the strange interaction had pushed his mission to the back of his mind, but now, the human's simple inquiry brought it all flooding back, along with the urgency. He looked away from her, staring up at the sun that was beginning to sink from its perch in the center of the sky.
"I'm going to the Den. The Scorpion Den." He pointed in the direction of the human city. "There is a dragon there that I need to save." He hoped the human understood him.

The stands quickly filled, maxing out around five thousand.
Tobias sat near an exit, too worried to do much else but watch as people filed into their seats.
His hat was in his hands, his fingers tracing the lining absent mindedly.
Tobias licked his lips, dropping his gaze and running a hand through his hair. He was about to stand up and pace when he felt a hand on his shoulder. His head snapped up to see Gongll standing beside him, looking out at the arena, her thick, wavy hair restored to it's regular condition, no longer sopping wet, several twisted braids scattered throughout.
Tobias motioned to the seat beside him in surprise, and she sat, leaning in to say in a low tone, "August, I am sorry I could not thank you. Thank you."
"No! Yeah- of course, I mean.. what are you doing here? Are you alright?"
"I am fine. Sore, but.. if I do not show up, people will be suspicious."
Tobias struggled to hear her words over the crowd, her thick Spanish accent making matters worse.
Suddenly a small head popped out of Gongll's bag, a tiny RainWing dragonet, her eyes scanning wildly through the crowd.
Tobias laughed, and Gongll shook her head with a smile. The dragonet's bright scales flashed from green, to yellow, to pink as she tried to crawl from the bag.
"You bring her here? With the crowds?" Tobias asked, reaching out gently.
"Yes- I start young."
"She's hardly a month." Tobias laughed I'm disbelief, running a hand over her smooth scales as the dragonet scrambled onto Gongll's shoulder.
"Aye, yes, but she is outgoing. She loves this, but it is still a new experience." Gongll motioned to the dragonet's green scales as they slowly morphed into yellow. "Where is Sol?"
Tobias bit his lip, a sick feeling in his stomach, "He's competing tonight."
"And you are not with him?"
"No, uh, there's- there's an auction tonight I got to be involved in."
"An auction? Again? You are full of surprises, Tobias."
"Am I?" Tobias smiled. "I dunno. It's, uh... It's Sol's idea."
Gongll nodded. "I am glad to respect his opinion."
Tobias sighed. "Yeah, but.. his opinion might very well get him killed."
Suddenly the lights dimmed.
The massive screens lining the arena, which had previously been playing ads, showed a woman's face, a scoreboard beside her on the screen.
"Hello, folks, and welcome, welcome to this year's SandWing Rally." a few excited shouts rang out through the arena, but the woman didn't pause for cheering, "Some of you know we are starting early- auctioning of a, uh, a novelty." She waited, the crowd silent in anticipation. "A couple LunarWings were brought in last night." An incredible murmur spread throughout the arena. "We are auctioning off one tonight," the massive arena doors slid open, and every head turned to the entrance.

Eclipse shrunk backwards as blinding white lights shot into the dark enclosure. A loud human voice seemed to echo from every corner of the arena and thousands of the creatures lined the seating areas. She wasn't sure what she was more afraid of. The thought of all of those countless eyes fixed on her, watching her, or the terror of what might happen next. She had no idea what dragons she might end up fighting, or if that was even the plan at all. She tried to back up, and one of the humans around her stabbed another of the rods into her side, forcing her forward. She stepped trembling out onto the light washed sand, ducking her head down and pulling her wings in close. She would have almost enjoyed finally having open space if she didn't feel so suffocated by the ocean of greedy spectators, and the metal clamps on her wing spokes that kept her from stretching her stiff wings. High-pitched sounds of admiration swept over the crowd and the loud human voice split the air again. Eclipse felt her chest tighten and her breath came in quick terrified gasps. Nothing in this place made sense. None of it was natural. It was all loud, and bright, and she couldn't be anywhere without the stupid creatures drooling over her silver scales. She closed her eyes and tried to focus on her breathing, wishing she could ignore the noise and lights. She could hardly remember being this scared in her life, and she wanted more than anything in that moment, to curl up into the cool gentle wings of the only refuge she'd ever known.

Oof, I am so bad at envisioning HUMAN activity and structure--why

ok i just saw all this and omg the ending line of eclipse's last part T-T
that's so sweet and cute!!!!! i'll try to have neoma watching or something in the background, idk what y'all are thinking but what if she's auctioned a few later? The crowd would want to stay longer if they knew there was another Lunarwing, but if she comes last, then they won't have the big finish with the huge Solarwing or something.... I'll wait to do Neoma's part until i have some feedback so it works out right!
