eepy thing =w=
Phoenix poked her head out of the hut as King slid past her and flew off. Corvus thumped to a landing in front of her, his crest raising slightly as he watched King leave.
Phoenix narrowed her eyes at him slightly. "Done pouting?" she said, turning and heading back inside. Corvus followed her quickly. "I wasn't pouting," he said irritably, pacing inside and looking around the hut. "What, your new... best friend... set this up for you?"
Phoenix gritted her teeth. "It's for both of us, actually. But you're completely obliged to leave if you are going to be a jerk." she didn't look at him.
"I'm being a jerk?" cried Corvus incredulously. "I'm sorry Phoenix, but you're the one that has COMPLETELY SIDELINED me ever since we got here. Before, even!"
"Sounds like your own fault, Corvus. I didn't want to come here in the first place!" said Phoenix evenly, her tail twitching. She was carefully watching her emotions, well aware she could flare on accident.
Corvus was silent. "We couldn't exactly stay, either. We would of ended up just like those compound dragons if we didn't leave. I just wish you would quit following King around like a lost puppy and completely ignoring me."
Phoenix hissed, smoke curling out of her nostrils. "I'm not following him around like a lost puppy, Corvus. That's all you. You are the one clinging to me all the time and acting like I can't speak for myself and can't take care of myself! I don't need you glued to me all the time!"
She took a step forward. "I'm making friends, Corvus. That's it."
She stared at him for a few more seconds before looking away and saying, quieter, "It's not my fault if you are jealous of that."
Corvus hissed, lashing his tail. "I'm not jealous!"
"Sure." said Phoenix, looking resolutely at the ground.
"We don't know if we can trust him, Phoenix! He could still betray us."
"Ah yes. I see. Making crap up and then going "iM nOt JeAlOuS". Seems pretty jealous to me." she looked up. "Why do you care, anyways? It doesn't matter."
"I'm not making anything up," growled Corvus. "We don't know King, or any of these dragons."
"See, but Corvus, you never had an issue with him until he started talking to me. You're sounding like a hypocrite right now."
"But-" Corvus cried, "I'm not jealous."
"What?" snapped Phoenix. "You'd rather keep me all to yourself forever, like some precious gem you found? Is that it? I don't love you the way you want me to, and forcing me to stay with you won't change any of that."
Phoenix's feathers sparked as she looked away from Corvus as he recoiled, pushing past him and flying away.
