Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Phoenix poked her head out of the hut as King slid past her and flew off. Corvus thumped to a landing in front of her, his crest raising slightly as he watched King leave.
Phoenix narrowed her eyes at him slightly. "Done pouting?" she said, turning and heading back inside. Corvus followed her quickly. "I wasn't pouting," he said irritably, pacing inside and looking around the hut. "What, your new... best friend... set this up for you?"

Phoenix gritted her teeth. "It's for both of us, actually. But you're completely obliged to leave if you are going to be a jerk." she didn't look at him.

"I'm being a jerk?" cried Corvus incredulously. "I'm sorry Phoenix, but you're the one that has COMPLETELY SIDELINED me ever since we got here. Before, even!"

"Sounds like your own fault, Corvus. I didn't want to come here in the first place!" said Phoenix evenly, her tail twitching. She was carefully watching her emotions, well aware she could flare on accident.

Corvus was silent. "We couldn't exactly stay, either. We would of ended up just like those compound dragons if we didn't leave. I just wish you would quit following King around like a lost puppy and completely ignoring me."

Phoenix hissed, smoke curling out of her nostrils. "I'm not following him around like a lost puppy, Corvus. That's all you. You are the one clinging to me all the time and acting like I can't speak for myself and can't take care of myself! I don't need you glued to me all the time!"
She took a step forward. "I'm making friends, Corvus. That's it."

She stared at him for a few more seconds before looking away and saying, quieter, "It's not my fault if you are jealous of that."

Corvus hissed, lashing his tail. "I'm not jealous!"

"Sure." said Phoenix, looking resolutely at the ground.

"We don't know if we can trust him, Phoenix! He could still betray us."

"Ah yes. I see. Making crap up and then going "iM nOt JeAlOuS". Seems pretty jealous to me." she looked up. "Why do you care, anyways? It doesn't matter."

"I'm not making anything up," growled Corvus. "We don't know King, or any of these dragons."

"See, but Corvus, you never had an issue with him until he started talking to me. You're sounding like a hypocrite right now."

"But-" Corvus cried, "I'm not jealous."

"What?" snapped Phoenix. "You'd rather keep me all to yourself forever, like some precious gem you found? Is that it? I don't love you the way you want me to, and forcing me to stay with you won't change any of that."

Phoenix's feathers sparked as she looked away from Corvus as he recoiled, pushing past him and flying away.

Corvus watched, silent, as Phoenix left and flew away, her feathers glowing in her anger. He'd been so stupid. But he knew better than to follow her now, especially as he was seething himself. "Ughhhhh" he snarled, accidentally knocking over a small wooden table with his tail. He hissed. He'd never felt so confused or frustrated in his life.

The draammmmaaa, I love it, lol

Crest nodded at the king. Of course we'll get your son. That's why you came here in the first place. He heard rustling in another cage and he looked over at the other solarwings cage. She struggled to get up, but eventually managed it. Their eyes met and he saw a question in them. What do we need to do? He wasn't quite sure yet, so he held off on the silent question while he answered the king's question. "Like what, Seawing?"
He looked back at king Helios, "Like, mean and unrespective of dragons. Deliberately torturing a dragon or buying and selling them like they are slaves. Surely they can't all be this way." He turned back towards the other solarwing and gave a reassuring look. Just sit tight...I'll get us out of here. He hoped the silent message was clear for the young solarwing.
What are you doing, Crest! Why are you making promises you can't keep! He got on to himself for being so open and took his gaze from the solarwing and waited for the king.

Helios sighed, “No. No of course not all of them are evil, but most of them yes. I’ve heard of several villages full of humans that are allies of us dragons, especially in the bay of a thousand scales.” He said with a glimmer of hope, smiling a little at the thought.

The cool night air cleared Kings head fairly quickly, his crest raised to catch the breeze as he slowly walked down the village street. Dim orange hanging lanterns lit his path as he neared the hatchery, his steps becoming slower as he did so. “This is stupid. it’s the middle of the night King, why do you make yourself do this. That egg better be ok…”
King opened the door gently, the creaking sounding louder then possible in the dead of night. Every step made the wooden floor shriek under his weight and suddenly everything seemed to be louder then normal.

He saw the egg on the other side of the glass wall, feeling the guilt well up inside him again. It pulsed with light as he neared, as if his dream was becoming a reality.
King swallowed hard, not afraid, but worried. He’d seen eggs hatch before, normally it was just like you’d imagine. But this egg was different, blueish white light seemed to pour from the indents and cracks in the egg, new cracks began to emerge along with them spilling more silvery light everywhere. He opened the door and strode slowly into the room, every step closer to the egg resulted in a pulse of light.
Could it be…?
The egg rocked lightly, a piece of its shell dislodging slightly.
“Weird…no explosion of ligh- ”
The room erupted in a wave of almost blinding silver light, so much so that King had to shield his eyes with his wing quickly. His many years of missions had included more bombs and grenades then he could count, the sudden explosion of light immediately bringing back countless memories of his conflicts with humans and team members lost to those such missions. The wave of light rippled over his feathers like a splash of water from the lake, it subsided after a moment and King raised his head. His eyes still shocked by the sudden brightness. And there, in the middle of the nest, filled with pieces of egg shell with a bright, silvery interior, sat a small dragonet. It was the size of his talon and at first it wasn’t moving, giving King his second heart attack that night. He rushed forwards and then proceeded slowly, cradling the small creature with great care. It finally opened its eyes and looked straight up at king, as if he was an enormous thing too big to comprehend. The dragonet was small and silver colored, with blacks scales dotted down its neck and in other various places. A silver liquid covered several spots of the hatchling, before seeping into its scales in a matter of moments.
Woah….hello lil fella… you’re….you’re a …a Lunarwing.”
He said in amazement, bringing his head close to the dragonet and watching the lil thing in wonder.

Crest contemplated what the king had said for a moment. There were so many good humans who lived near the Sea Kingdom. I mean, there were some who weren't good, but most of them were. He remembered seeing seawings and humans working together to fish and to complete other projects. How could all other humans be evil?
Seeing the king's small smile and the small glimmer of hope in his eyes, he decided that it was time to admit who he was to the king. "King Helios, I don't believe that I introduced myself. I am Crest, and I'm a seawing from the bay of a thousand scales." He smiled, thinking about his home. "And, yes, the humans of this bay are quite friendly towards us, and us towards them."
A nagging thought jerked at the back of his mind. Way to go, you idiot! Now you're creating a friendly bond with this dragon! What happens if you end up losing this one too! What if....you continue to fail at protecting them. He shook his head, desperately trying to get the thoughts to go away and instead stared back at the king, hoping that he didn't think less of him now that the king knew that he was a seawing, and a dragon friendly to most humans.

Helios shifted in his cage, his wings aching to be allowed to spread and stretch. “I thought so, you’re a royal guard or something of that nature are you not?” He asked curiously. “I wonder how well the Seawing kingdom is holding up nowadays. An alliance would be helpful..” thought the king.

A Rain/Cloudwing... I think that is an awesome idea.
Yesss I love the idea of OG tribe x my tribe hybrids :>
“Oh blazes, blazes!” He cursed, ramming himself into the cage wall. “I can’t fight him, I won’t
fight him.” He told himself. But the humans had a different idea. They wheeled him away and Crest soon was out of sight. A long stick held by the humans shot something straight into his scales. A needle fell from him as he shook it off. whipping his tail around, he batted the needle away and it nearly impaled a nearby human. Suddenly he could feel his fire reigniting inside him, slowly but surely. “You foolish pests! When I find him and get out of here, you’ll be sorry you were ever born.” He shouted, his firey eyes staring straight into the lead humans. He snarled low and deep.
“looks like you’re ready for a fight, King Helios.” The human said with mock respect.
Sunpspot lifted her head as she watched the altercation. Thank the sun they aren't involving me, was her first thought. But part of her felt like she owed these dragons. Crest and Helios seemed to be her only chance to freedom. She watched as Helios' cage was wheeled away, him panicking. Uh oh.

She could feel her fire coming back, though. Sunspot twisted in an awkward circle to look at her tail, seeing a dull glow returning to the globes that decorated her spines.

Suddenly two humans came in, one pulling a long syringe out of his jacket. The human approached her. Sunspot raised her crest and hissed, the webbed spines on her lower chest and along her back and tail raising threatentingly. The human smelled of dirt and sweat, and the needle glinted in the artificial light. A low growl sounded in Sunspot's throat, and the human inched closer, sliding along the side of the cage where Sunspot couldn't reach nor see him.

Sunspot slammed her tail against the bars, the sound ringing cold and hollow and very, very loud. An instant later she felt a sharp prick in between her scales, telling her that her bluff hadn't frightened the human. A moment later, the faint glow that remained in her faded.

Stinking camel corpses, Sunspot cursed, as the human hurried away with his assistant. The drug made her feel dizzy and unstable as well, and she sank back to the floor, feeling hopeless as ever.

Ok, so would we need to wait to start our fight until we catch up with the group at the oasis, or could we start this fight.

I can't wait to rp Sunspot and Eclipse again. The first thing Eclipse is gonna do is smack her really hard and then they can make up later maybe after they escape, lol.

I think maybe it would be okay to do this one fight, so no one gets too bored waiting for the next scene with the oasis group. We have a long way to go to catch up with them. I think that maybe, they should stay in the oasis for one more night to catch up time-wise and then break into the den the next day around the time the rebellion starts acting, that way we can skip a few story hours.

No same. I want more to happen with Sunspot so she can get some much needed character development lol
I wonder if they will ever be friends, maybe just "frienemies" or if Sunspot will go her own way after all this. They are so much fun to rp together, because Sunspot is so sassy and just frustrates everyone and anyone, and Eclipse is so short-tempered and gets annoyed so easily, but she can also counter Sunspot pretty well sometimes.
Sunspot has a very impulsive and fiery personality in stark contrast to Eclipse's cold but passionate one. They are like, the perfect example of the vastly contrasting but perfectly balanced pair of Sun and Moon
