Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

King laughed, “Not a lot, actually. I’ve learned they keep you up at night and cry for fish a lot. And they snore.” He said with a straight face, before chuckling and shaking his head. “Kidding. But it’s true.” He added.
“They’re supposed to be very reclusive and keep to themselves,” he said as Knight practically leapt out of Kings pouch which he’d been squirming around in and onto phoenix’s back. “Apparently he didn’t know that. They’re supposed to create this stuff that can take any shape they want it to! Like mind control metal or whatever, it’s said their city’s were made of it before the fall of their kingdom. And apparently they used to be able to read minds, but I’m not so very certain of that one.”
“Mind reading? Like NightWings?” Phoenix asked, picking up the pace to catch up with Kings longer stride. She hunched her wings a little to stabilize the dragonet sitting on her back. “I wonder if they’re related somehow. His scale patterns and his body shape remind me a little of a NightWing… just skinnier. But the black blotches makes me think hybrid? Do you think some LunarWings have black scales? Maybe NightWings are like- descendants of the LunarWings- and SkyWings descend from SolarWings! Or something.” Phoenix realized she was rambling and snapped her jaws shut, looking down. “Sorry.”
The words rang in Sage's mind. The way that the giant cloudwing delivered this made him shudder. Mostly, because he knew that Vulture was perfectly capable and willing to follow through with his threat. The casual way he said it gave the impression that he did it every day... and Sage wasn't completely sure if that statement was untrue.
Standing up again, he exited the large throne room , grateful to be out of the presence of the chilling dragon.
Making his way back down the hall, his face was set with determination. He ignored everyone one around him again and found his way to the stairs descending to the scientist's lab. Clacking filled the air as Sage's claws hit the cold stone. The long staircase finally opened up to a very large room filled with harsh white lights on the ceiling. The tile was white and the walls were a light gray. In the past, he had gotten anxiety from entering this room, but now those feelings were gone. He had to be here.
"Oh goody goody!" came a childlike voice from the other side of the room. A shorter man with crazy bleach blonde hair and a lab coat was hunched over a microscope. His shoulders shook with slight laughter and he grabbed another viol and poured a liquid on whatever he was working on. "It's working!" Without moving anything but his arm, he grabbed a nearby phone and spoke into it, "Jackson! Get down here! I think I have something!"
Looking around, Sage saw many tables and the rows continued down the room. He tried not to notice the humans or dragons on them. Several were unconscious, but others were fully conscious and staring at him. Their eyes were filled with terror when they saw Sage...
...what they were to become...
He felt their eyes on him as he made his way over to the scientist. He couldn't help but look down the room. A muffled scream stole his gaze and he watched as a young man was injected with a serum of some kind. Shudders started up Sage's spine, but he forced them back down. Two assistants came out of a nearby room and began wheeling the table with the young man on it into a brighter room. I'm so sorry... You'll never be the same...if you even survive.
"Scientist, I'm here," Sage grunted out.
Spinning around, he found an older face, the shaggy blonde hair falling into it and giving him a crazed look. Red rimmed his eyes and deep lines underneath showed many years of very little sleep. "Ah yes! Sage! My favorite experiment!" He gestured to an empty table for Sage to sit on. "Please, have a seat. This will only be but a moment."
Sage stared coldly at the scientist, "No time. Vulture sent me on another mission. Just give me the serum with no analysis this time."
The scientist's bushy eyebrows scrunched at that news. "Vulture has another mission for you! Ugh! Haven't I told him that I can't risk you dying or worse falling into the wrong hands."
"Maybe you want to tell Vulture that my mission is being delayed yourself," Sage remarked, starting towards the empty table.
The scientist seemed flustered and almost ran towards a desk strewn with viols. "No! No! His mission is fine with me! It's just...I wish he would take into consideration the work we've been doing down here. That's all." Grabbing a syringe, he loaded it with the serum and stuck it into Sage's arm. Strength began to flow through Sage as he felt the serum balancing him. Balancing who...what he was.
Sage stood to leave, "Don't forget," the scientist reminded, "you need to be back here preferably in 3 days. I'll send you with two injections of your own, but I need to have that physical done of you to make sure that the serum is indeed balancing you. I'm sure it is, but you can never be too careful." He let out a short cackle of laughter. Two syringes were placed in Sage's giant hands and he held them tight. Don't lose them. To lose them is death.
Sage nodded in the direction of the scientist and walked out of the room and up the stairs. Making his way to the weapons area, he took two guns off the rack and placed them in his holsters. He placed a short sword on his leg in it's sheath and grabbed a pouch to attack to his belt. Carefully, he placed the syringes inside and locked the box.
He made his way outside after getting some guards to let him out. Spreading his large wings wide, he took a long breath in. Fresh air. Rain poured down and Sage looked into the sky. The clouds cast a darkness over the land and Sage smiled. Good, I like it this way.
With one motion, he was thrown into the sky, the wind brushing against his scales. Flying over the land, he made his way to the nests.

After several hours of flying, Sage landed. The rain eventually stopped while he was flying as he exited his previous location. The sky cleared up and there was now only a few clouds in the sky. Blue sky...that's something you don't see everyday. Scanning the terrain, he folded his wings into a nosedive. The trees came closer and closer to him until he gracefully let out his wings and touched the ground.
Now to find Vulture's grandson
Ehehe yesss

But you could totally write him seeing Sol, and/or Helios, and/or Hibiscus, and/or just talking to Eclipse... I mean, um, we need a good description of the cavern, too, soooOoOOoOOo that's a mighty fine job para tu :D
Cuz, I hate writing descriptions. I think it's because half the time I get bored reading them 💁‍♀️ - and I don't want to bore you lot.

Eclipse let out a small grunt and rolled onto her side, stretching her wings and legs out in front of her, her jaws opening in a wide, lazy yawn as the transport jolted to a stop.
She opened her eyes and stared around the transport, where other dragons were now standing and pacing around, most of them watching the door to the truck anxiously.
Eclipse bumped the still sleeping Sunspot with her wing and stood up, glancing around for Bloodmoon and Shard as the doors to the truck creaked miserably and swung open on their damaged hinges. Light and heat flooded the dimly lit transport, making every dragon blink rapidly and squint into the entrance.
A tiny, white dragonet bounded across the metal space toward her and Eclipse swept her wing around to collect Shard against her side as the dragons began spilling out of the transport excitedly.
"Where are we going?" The dragonet chriped nervously.
"This is the checkpoint," Eclipse hung back, not wanting to get jostled and brushed by the others as they swept past, losing sight of Sunspot in the movement.
"We are going to rest here for a while before we continue on the trip. Some dragons who are in better condition might fly away instead, but the rest of us are going to stay with the humans a while."
She carefully nudged Shard forward as the last few stragglers exited. She'd lost sight of Sunspot in the group and had never located Bloodmoon, but as they started toward the back of the transport, she saw the glintering of familiar crimson scales.
"Eclipse! Eclipse?"
Sunlight dropped from the beaming sun onto her silver scales, soaking into her bones and chasing away the ache in her recovering wing shoulder. Her scales shone like polished metal, light glancing off of them onto the sides of the transport before she slid the rest of the way out onto the sand.
Eclipse gave Sol a weak smile which immediately disappeared when she saw the paniced and disappointed look on his face. She didn't even have to ask, and she dropped her gaze to the ground, guilt building in her chest like a storm cloud.
"He stayed behind," she swallowed, trying to chase the dread out of her voice. "Roe and him... they promised they would find a way on there own, but he wouldn't let me stay and fight with them. They should be here soon, I'm certain..." she trailed off, trailing her gaze over the desert the way they'd come to avoid meeting Sol's eyes.
"He promised..."

Sunspot woke with a start, realizing they had stopped and dragons were leaving the transport. When she stood up, Eclipse was gone.

Sunspot hurried out of the transport, desperate for some fresh air. Maybe jostled a couple dragons on the way. Her talons touched the sand, still warm from the sun, and she took a deep breath. Freedom. Sunspot exhaled, a cloud of smoke leaving her nostrils. She twisted and looked for Eclipse. She spotted the silver dragon talking to a tall crimson SolarWing, who looked distressed.

She walked up to the scene, flexing her wings. “You left me,” the SolarWing said, nudging Eclipse with one wing. She nodded towards the other SolarWing. “What’s up with Tragic Handsome Snout over here?” She squinted at Sol. “Looks kinda like Helios, but not old and decrepit.”
