Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Alicanto froze for a moment, the white-tipped feathers along his spine glowing brighter as he felt the dragon's breath stir them. The despair on Sol's face was evident, and Alicanto only smiled, the shadow cast by the dragon behind him sending a dark veil over his already menacing expression.
"Of course," he said slowly, his face a sickly light tone. "But do consider-" he tightened his grip on Tobias, feeling the human tense in pain.
"I won't go down without a fight. And August won't last more than the next several seconds."

Eclipse had only just opened her mouth to respond when Vel appeared behind the Cloudwing, along with Kas and another Rainwing she didn't recognize.
She watched in horror as the silver dragon's grip tightened around Tobias's waist, his claw pressing up again and forcing the human's head back. Instinctively, she took a step towards them, stopping as the Cloudwing shot her a dark warning look, his face shadowed ominously in the moonlight. Eclipse felt torn, standing uncertainly beside Sol.

Vel didn't care. She did not care if Tobias died. The rebellion was her priority.
Kass realized this immediately, his eyes searching the gray RainWing's expression for any hint of sympathy as Tobias cried out, the blood showing brightly against his pale skin as he jerked his head back, chocked groans racking his throat.
The panic and horror in Sol's eyes sent Kass' heart spiraling, and he tried to motion Vel back, giving a quick shake of his head.
Vel, shockingly, listened, scowling as she backed away. "So, I walked in just as we were trying to settle the stupid compromise, and I have an idea- NO, no you stay," Vel pointed to Sol, who took a jerky step forward, his eyes on Tobias, who was moaning softly, his silent composure long gone. "Yah, like that. Stay. Goood boy. K, CloudWing, hear me out, dude." Vel sighed, her motherly tone condescending. "WHAT IF- you took Kassa back instead," she grinned, her gaze shifting to the white dragon, who gave her a critical expression. "No, K, fine, me. If you took me instead. And then I can join your little interrogation fest, and you can go through the whole torture shabang, and I'll tell you every dang thing I know." She shrugged. "Up to you, dog, but my man Tobe legit knows nothin. I on the other talon, know everything. So, really, up to you. Honestly down for whateves here. And- stop, um, squishing him, please." She looked up from Tobias, meeting the CloudWing's gaze with a cool expression. "Doubt they want him back dead, ya know?"

Sol blinked, his ears deaf to Vel's words, too lost in the panicked pain to listen.

Alicanto tilted his head, thinking, easing the pressure on the human slightly.
The Rainwing was offering herself too willingly. Either she didn't actually know much more about the rebellion than Sol did, or she knew that whatever form of interrogation the Den had in store, she could resist. Alicanto suppressed a shudder at the idea of the city's information-collecting strategies.
"That could be arranged," he said slowly, his tail twitching back and forth. "But I have a few of my own suggestions." He smiled at the irritated look on the Rainwing's face.
"Oh, don't worry, they're nothing major. Mostly insurance." He glanced back at Sol and the others.
"Gen and both of your companions will have to leave. Head back to whatever place you crawled from. I don't trust they won't attack us on the way out."
He paused a second.
"The Lunarwing too."

Eclipse snorted, interrupting the Cloudwing.
"I can't fly. And I'm not going anywhere."
She glanced at Sol, gently pressing her wing against his, her heart aching with sympathy. She quickly pulled away from him again to avoid being burned.

Alicanto rolled his eyes.
"Fine. You and Sol can stay. I don't care."
He turned back to the pale Rainwing.
"Send the others off, now, and we can get on with the deal."

A few minuets passed as the dragons faded into the distance.

Vel cleared her throat. "I have a question for August." She grimaced, holding her talons out so that the CloudWing could watch her every move as she approached. "That okay? Just one, liddle, toiny question." She narrowed her eyes, glancing back at the receding RainWings. "They can have him now, right?" She pointed to Sol and Eclipse, then back to Tobe, who slumped in the CloudWing's arms.

Alicanto summoned a pair of warping blades, aiming them at the Rainwing's chest and signaling Ajax forward with one wing.
"Get in the air," the Cloudwing hissed at the Rainwing, his eyes slitting. "Start flying toward the Den with Ajax, I'll be right behind you." He smoothed over the end of one of the blades, gesturing for Ajax to grab it, glancing cautiously toward Sol and the Lunarwing.

Hey, Taber, could I put Alicanto in Heart and Sol? Like, tie in that familiar feeling he keeps sensing about Tobe? I have some reeaalllly sik plans, and I think it be an absolute banger.

"Nah, wait, hold up. Give them the freaking dude, you legit have the high ground right now. Just chill down." Vel nodded towards Tobias. "Drop him."
