Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Sol yawned. He stood and stretched.
Tobias was slumped on his side, sleeping, a knee pulled up protectively over his right arm.
The SolarWing steadied himself as the trailer leaned left, turning sharply. He glanced around to see who else was awake.

Lets
get
this
party
started-
Shard tried not to wriggle as she watched the other dragons on the transport from beneath Eclipse's wing. Ever since she'd woken up, she had felt restless and bubbling with energy, her mind fizzing energetically with questions about the others on the transport.
But she didn't want to wake Eclipse, and without the Lunarwing there for protection or reassurance, Shard wasn't sure she wanted to leave her and start talking to everyone else. So she'd stayed put.
Something about the transport's endless humming seemed to be changing. It shifted more often, slowing down and swinging more instead of the same continuous droning of the hardpath.
Shard glanced over at Sol as the Solarwing stood from his position beside Tobias, the transport turning again. Something was deffinatly changing.
Shard rolled over, wriggling closer to Eclipse as the truck started to pick up speed again before slowing and turning once more. The dragonet reached out and rested her talons on Eclipse's arm, nudging her gently.
"Eclipse," she whispered loudly, her voice brimming with excitement. "I think we are almost to somewhere."

Eclipse pressed her eyes shut further, pulling her arm closer to her chest with an exhausted groan.
"That's cool Shard," she mumbled, her words slurred together by sleep.

The Icewing shook her arm a little harder.
"I think something's happening."

"Shard, just go back to sleep. We can wake up when we stop."
Eclipse readjusted her head closer to her chest again with a tired sigh.

Shard watched the Lunarwing in annoyance for a moment, her tail twitching as Eclipse quickly fell back asleep. She squirmed around again, turning her head to look back at Sol.
"But I want to be awake when something happens."
There was no response from Eclipse and Shard heaved an impatient huff, her gaze flicking over to Sunspot.
After a long pause, the Icewing pulled herself from beneath the Lunarwing's wing and bounded over to the small Solarwing, grabbing her shoulder and carefully shaking her.
"Sunspot, I think something is happening."

Sunspot shot to her feet, snarling at the feeling of ice cold scales touching hers. She whirled around, spotting a tiny white dragonet standing at her feet.

Oh. Just Shard.

She felt a twinge of guilt before she forced it down and buried it. She’d probably scared the dragonet.

“Hm?” She asked gruffly. “What do you want?”

Dred nodded. “Right. They wanted the timber. I heard the leafwings tried to fight but eventually fled to the islands surrounding the sea kingdom.”

Shrike made a face. “Dang. That’s a long way ta go. I doubt many of them made—” he cut himself off with a wince, glancing at Kapok.
The CloudWing was awkwardly silent for a moment, running the whole scenario through his mind; his expression becoming clouded as he did. Finally the feather dragon stood abruptly, muttering “freaking scavengers..” under his breath. “We’ll find ‘em okay? They’ll—they’ll be fine. We jus gotta fly over to the Bay of a Thousand Whatevers and we’ll.. find ‘em. Alright?” He turned away as the truck began to slow slightly.

“Where is Ria?” Raptor groaned, pacing across the cold cement floor.
Midnight was soon coming.
Winter yawned from an old couch on a side wall, “I don’t know. I’ve said that like three times now. Just, chill out, kay? She’ll be here.” The SnowWing yawned again. “I’m going outside. I’m gonna see if I can see the group.” The white dragon slid off the couch and began walking towards the hatch. Raptor walked up behind him. “Well I don’t want to sit down here and do nothing.” She said, trailing him.
The two dragons heard a knocking from outside and Winter hissed. “What was that?” He asked, and Raptor froze, listening, as her heart raced.
Several seconds passed, and they heard a second collection of knocks. The hybrid dragon felt her heart leap, but forced herself to be calm. “I told you no one…here,” they heard a muffled voice say, “see? The windows are…” there was a higher-pitched voice that mumbled a string of words, but where too faint to make out.
“A human,” Raptor whispered, recognizing the tone. Realization hit her, and Winter grew nervous at her wide eyes. “Dragon riders,” she breathed, forcing herself again to breathe and stay calm.
“Well I see that,” the dragon voice came again, and the door rattled. “But someone locked…inside.” The human voice came again, and the dragons grumbled. “Fine.” The second one said, and there was a pause.

Suddenly, there was a large ‘BAM’ and the two dragons heard the door fall off its hinges and slam to the ground. Both jumped.
“See? There no one in here,” the first dragon said. He grumbled. “Then how would…lock…” Raptor heard from the first dragon’s human rider, who was speaking Dragon.
“Look, they probably locked the door and went through a window before boarding it up,” the second dragon growled; if he had a rider, they were being quiet. “Now can we leave already? I’m sick of being in the downtown. So many…” the dragon trailed off, muttering.
The dragons and rider left the house, and the sounds trailed off.
“Okay,” Winter dared pipe up, after several minutes of silence; the sound made Raptor jump, “you can say it. And yes, I’m glad I didn’t go outside, thanks.” His eyes were big and round, fearful after the close call.

I'll write Leur's intro later. I'm sorry I've been so busy. I wanted to put a dent in Heart and Sol with first.

Shard flinched back as a loud snarl sounded from the Solarwing's throat and she flattened her ears to the sides of her head, taking a step back as fear pulsed beneath her scales.
"I-I was just-"
She ducked her head, staring up at the dragoness with wide eyes, the words dying in her throat.

Kapok looked up at Shrike sadly and nodded slowly and sullenly, pulling his tail against his side and heavying another long sigh. The Leafwing glanced over at Dred before turning his head away and staring at the far wall.
