"I believe there are some awaiting our arrival. Though I have been poorly informed." Sol frowned, feeling the truck slow. He glanced towards the doors.

Eclipse glanced behind her, fixing her eyes on the back of the transport as well. The truck had slowed significantly and she could hear the faint whining of the tires.
"We might be about to find out," she murmured, pulling Shard closer to her side protectively.

Sunspot growled. “Good someones or bad someones?” Her crest stood up tall as she followed Sol’s gaze to the truck doors.

Raptor spotted the first of the transport trucks rounding a corner slowly and glided down to meet it. The dragoness flew a short distance in front of the vehicle and landed on the cold asphalt, flapping her wings to hail the truck. It screeched to a stop in the middle of the street, the ones behind it stopping as well, bathed in the light of the brake lights ahead of them.
Raptor walked up to the driver’s side of the truck, partially blinded by the headlights shining into her eyes, and the man inside rolled the window down. “Yeh need something?” He questioned. Raptor blinked furiously to try and be able to make out the features of the man’s face. “I know where the next checkpoint is,” Raptor hissed in English, glancing down the street and getting flashed yet again by the headlights of the truck behind them, “I can show you to it.”
Clarity filled the man’s expression and he unlocked the side door. “Get in,” he said in a low tone, mentioning with his head towards the passenger door. Raptor walked around the front of the thrumming truck and opened the door; clambering in. “I think you need to shut the headlights off,” Raptor said with an apologetic glance, “so we don’t get seen.” She tried to sit but the seat was made for humans. She crouched at an awkward angle, trying to keep her tail close to her body. She shut the door.
“Ooo, forgot about that,” the man said, clicking the lights off. He radioed the other trucks on a walkie-talkie and soon the street went dark.
“It’s that way, all the way down the street and to the left,” Raptor said, pointing down the road. The man nodded, and the trucks began moving forward again.

Leuria’s phone vibrated, and several messages from Winter appeared on the screen after a moment.
“Yes com over here”

“Rapters going crazy waiting for the truks. She is nervus I think ha ha”

“We had a close call with some dragon riders nocking down the door but their gone now”

“Rapter went out to meet the truks”

She moved through the damp streets, unseen and noiseless, hooded in a heavy black sweater, her face masked by the thick fabric. She twisted the drawstrings in her fingers, moving lightly on her feet as she turned off into a building. A damp gloom hung in the air, and Leur could feel is on her skin and clothes as she passed through forgotten rooms, every step awaking cobwebs and dust. She exited the abandoned house through a window, slowly wedging her self between the second building, a four foot gap. She propped her feet against the house and the building, using her hands to support her upper body as she began her decent. The walls were made of brick.
She reached an empty window frame, and gripped the sill with tense fingers, swinging her legs down, squatting, feeling the full moon shine down on her neck.
The SnowWing below glanced up.
"How is that for dramatic?" She told him cooly, dropping into the room below. "I rate it a ten. Out of nine." Leur let her hair back down. "So where is Raptor, then?"

The sun lingered on in the sky, and Vel put the time to resting and removing crusted, sandy scabs from Alicanto's neck.
She slept lightly, not daring to slip off. She kept watch with a careful eye.
By the time the sun had set, her body felt alive and well rested. She shivered with pleasure.

"Alright, folks, let get this show on the road." Vel announced, trying to catch Ajax's eye, but he wouldn't look at her. She gathered Alicanto into her arms, gaze still on Ajax, who finally gave her a rueful look.
"Let's go." Vel lifted into the air.

Winter laughed. “You humans can do the weirdest things,” he said with a grin. He stood up and walked outside, ears perked for any sounds of vehicles. “She went out to meet the trucks. I dunno if she found them yet. You gonna go try and find her?” He looked back at Leuria.
