Thanks, I did. I went out by the pool in the shade and closed my eyes till my brain un-kinked. It felt like it was balled up into a tight fist.

Oh, you have a pool? And its warm enough to swim in it, and lay by it?
In the shade?

Yep X3, it's an above ground pool we built a deck around, the water is cool but not cold, the whole thing is surrounded by oak trees so it only gets a couple of hours of sun in the morning. Works for me, I like to get on my floatie raft and nap.

I love floatie naps!!

I had a front porch pool we set up several years. Not sure if we weill this year or not, its seen its life.
even has duct tape on it!

Its one of those 8' diameter ring type things.

But, I could put a floatie in it and nap.
I would have to also put on a blanket, cuz its cold around here.

yep, napping in my pool with my blankie.

Yep, floatie naps are the best. I have been known to cover up with a beach towel rather than get out of the pool when I start getting chilled.

Debi, your dh is in hunter/gatherer mode. He's not going to hear a word you say till he gets a car.

I can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. We do not have ANY money. He seems to think we can take it from my next check. Um, NO. Bills, remember? My check is $1314. If we spend my check, then the next check pays our $1300 rent and leaves us with $14 for two weeks. At least right now, the bills are paid and we have food. If we do that, we won't even be able to eat.

We should get some to join this thread...

Why, grown ups are boring and ruin my fun.

Usually I can outsmart grownups. The kids however...

Algae, I'm a little unclear on your mood today...

Pissy, evil and nasty. I am not playing nicely with others today. A friend and godfather to Matthew died very suddenly and unexpectedly, his 7 y/o found him dead when he went to wake Daddy up for dinner, and life just flat out sucks.

Sucks, sucks, sucks. I should go do something productive or something but I'm being pissy.

I'm sorry. That really sucks. Pissy is probably better that sadness. You mourn anyway you have to.

Going to stick with logic are you?

Maple, I saw this recipe and thought of you!

Rootin' Tootin' Salad
(Serves 6)

Three root vegetables—beets, jicama, and carrots—combine to make this crunchy, nutritious salad.

1 15-ounce can diced beets, drained
1 small jicama, peeled and cut into thin strips or diced
2 medium-size carrots, peeled and cut into thin strips or diced
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
2 teaspoons stoneground mustard
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed

Place beet cubes into a large salad bowl, along with jicama and carrot pieces. In a small bowl, mix lemon juice (if used), vinegar, mustard, and dill; pour over the salad. Toss to mix. Serve warm or chilled.
