Ok i am ticked.... Never got to do grand champ showmanship beaucse they held it at least an hour before the sechdual said. If your like me i am lucky i was able to be away from the garden stuff for an hour and a half. sooo GRRRRRr. then i go up there and get lectured about the size of my watering and feeding things. They are large beause a) the ducks weigh 10 pounds b) i can not be up there alll day to tend to a small feed and water dish for gods sake. You might have all day to be up there but i do not.

I believe the 4Hers here have to provide all their own bedding as well, though they don't have to haul the dirty stuff home with them!

My kids aren't interested in 4H. The bad mom who lives inside me is glad.

Did you explain, gently, that because you're working on the farm as well, that you are not spending the hours at the fair the other children, who may only have a few animals can? Rememer they're used to kids your age being, well flakey. We've already discussed that you're more mature than many 20 year olds (for which we are greatful), but many adults will look at you and still see "punk kid" you know?

Mine too, Ours is well crazy. we're in city limits, so we can't have roosters, they local 4h actually suggested we do HORSES, as those are allowed in town. mind you my yard is 12X36, a horse would be utterly miserable here, when i pointed it out, the reply was "city girls don't know much about horses"

I offered to chair a poultry project, nope, she was sure they'd not be interested.
