Office Work, Part Deux: Professional Mayhen

Cake turned out good, deformed, but good. Haven't tasted the bread yet.

Now. Cornish game hens for dinner, and I have never made stuffing without celery. No money, no celery. Celery salt? Can I use that? And for the sauce can plum sauce take the place of orange juice? Whatcha think?

The sauce I make is with red cooking wine, orange juice, chicken broth, bacon fat and the drippings from the birds for gravy later. Plum sauce I have, orange juice I don't. I baste with the sauce, then make gravy with it when they are done.

This is gonna be interesting.

ETA: I am digging through the freezer to feed us this next week and I found all kinds of stuff. Pork chops, salmon, game hens, ground beef. WOOT!

I was thrilled to find the game hens. We have pantry shopped for the last week, it was time to hit the freezer. Til Ken gets a job, we are gonna have to alot of that.

Could be a blessing in disguise. My dh buys stuff all the time that goes into the freezer never to be seen again. Then we have a hurricane or the freezer breaks and we have instant garbage.

Just researching city code, our HOA documents, fretting for DH to come home so we can meet the complaining neighbors and address their concerns. Hoping I get to keep my chickens.
