OMG. I have three young roos out there, and 2 have started crowing about a week ago. They still sound like they are doing it through a paper towel roll.

So we are sitting here eating, and we hear this high-pitched scream that goes on and on and on. The DH jumps up to get his gun and see who is being murdered.

....and apparently roo #3 is making that sound, trying to become a long-crower. It's hard to describe, but you know that screetch little kids make? Like that, only super-sonic, and 45 seconds long.

Who was it that smashed their hand, no broken bones, but can't type on here?
I'm so far behind, and I can't catch up, but anyway, hope your hand is getting better.

My arm still hurts, and two of my fingers are strained, its been 11 days since pony slammed me to the ground, so I have sympathy.

Its been a long time since I was pg, and I was never super pg during the summer months, and also, we do not get that kind of heat around here, here's to wishing your power does not go out this summer, and may you have many a cool days.

Roosters learning to crow are funny!

Ok, catch ya all later

I have a little gold laced cochin rooster who does predator calls all the time. OMG A LEAF *PREDATOR CALL*

But he is a bantam who is kind of stunted and retarded....he sounds like a girl screaming when he does a hawk call. His name is Frank. And he screams like a girl.

Sorry, I laughed at that. Then I'd wring the little roos neck.

I will, soon. But right now it is really quiet. We only heard it because all the windows are open.

DH is still convinced a neighbor is running a dremmel or somehting.

My boyfriend named him. He decided that it was "his" chicken (er, rooster). So I can't get rid of him. And I have a dog named Frankie, so the name is unfortunate. But whatever.

Frank the rooster. Who screams like a girl.

He wears a superman saddle. Just for shingles and giggles.

...um so I can't remember exactly when I got the meaties, but I did a blog post about them on Feb 28th. Assuming I got them the week before, that means the meaties are 12 weeks old, right? That it is time to shuffle them off this mortal coil?
