I woke up to the dogs freaking out, a loud metallic BANG (there is a big steel gate right next to my bedroom window), and what sounded like a chicken squawking. First thing out of my mouth,"Did someone just steal a chicken?"

Shaner thinks I am nuts. Why would someone steal a chicken?

Anywhoo, further investigation implies there are no missing chickens, but the back door to the house was open, and there were 3, THREE piles of dog diahrea in hte living room.


I JUST WASHED THAT CARPET YOU AHOLES!!! ON TUESDAY!!!


And if the dogs had pushed the back door open, why didnt they just GO outside and crap? It took me 45 minutes to scrub it up.

My dog ate a whole pan of caramel rolls overnight the other night - and still didn't crap in the house. I

My EE Frosty, who I was worried was sick the other day? Well, she's been fine the last couple of days but I finally got to inspect her feet last night and now I know why she wasn't very active for a couple of days before that - she's missing the end of one of her toes. I assume one of the horses stepped on it and she pulled back. Poor thing. It's scabbed over and looks fine so I'm not going to mess with it.

Only working till noon today!

Today is WONDERFUL. The two head drama llamas are off for Good Friday. It's a food day here. I have chocolate. I enjoy my chocolate. Rufus and Reginald have been quieted with a peanut butter Rice Crispie bar with chocolate frosting.

Other than the yet another new dog at home issue, it really is a good Friday.

At least that way you could adopt them back out again!

Methods to keep water from freezing


My first thought is, keep it above 32ºF...

He is a nice dog, not small animal aggressive, not bossy over the other dogs. Likes the kids. LOVES DH. Ok, he loves ANYONE who feeds him right now. Kind of like me.

But seriously, we do have some heat for the coop in the winter and we've NEVER had the water freeze. Keep it at 40* or so and it's fine. Plus the chicken heat helps a lot.

My ex had a dog that was dying of cancer and he would come in and literally spray sh_it all over the walls and floor then go back outside. You can’t use a carpet shampooer on the walls… I hated that dog.​
