Well, off to pick up the boys and head to church. If I don't get back on here, everyone have a great Easter!

Snuffy has a home that will love her and spoil her and let her snuggle on the bed and watch TV and stuff like that. She will be a spoiled house chicken. She's a sweetheart of a bird and I am absurdly happy for her. She goes to her new home tomorrow afternoon and is my own personal Easter miracle.

Y'know, I can wring a mean bird's neck in a heart beat.
And I can put down a genetically defective bird with ease.
But Snuffy's only flaw is that she sounds like she has a deviated septum when she gets excited, and she sounds snargly. An issue that didn't become obvious until she started laying. She's tired of being the companion to the retired breeder roosters, and will cherish her new safe home with a lady as her flock.
And after Snuffy's close call with the fox, she will be as absurdly happy to be safe as I am.

deviated septum...hence the name Snuffy.

Should we start calling Nelly that? Snuffy? You all saw the pic of her crazy nostrils right?

Hey, there are people at work who don't eat chicken butt eggs. Apparently grocery store eggs don't come from chicken butts.

I sat across from that nostril just last night! And told her all about Snuffy, too.

So 3 birds to LH, and one to this new person. I'll have more room to rearrange EVERYONE in order to have more grow-out space for the bazillion chicks. Yay me!

Good thing, since 2 broodies are at this moment hatching more babies, with another broody next week.
And the Easter chicks due to hatch tomorrow....

I live in a subdivision and have hit the max for things DH will build that are structural. He did build me some way cool temp enclosures though, that I can move around the yard. He was tired of seeing me use wood scrap for this purpose, and doesn't want me using his tools LOL
So to keep from having ghetto-style pens, he built some slick ones from 1x1 and plastic chicken netting. They are beautiful and work like a charm.... as long as the sun is out.

This is the wall I Killz'ed just now. During construction, it was drywalled, textured, but never painted. We ran out of time---and it was looooow on the list of to dos.

It is the wall where the dining table sits: specifically, where the bench presses against the wall. We make the boys sit there, as we can fence them in.
