An appreciation event for our high school band director. He taught at the school for 30 years, and is 80+ now, so a bunch of us all got together for a reception honoring him. It was bittersweet, because a lot of peeps that wanted to be there couldn't, due to various responsibilities after the tornadoes (I know a lot of the people hit by them in Ringgold). But the band director was thrilled, and it was really great to see him.
They brought him there in a stretch limo with police escort. A small group of alumi formed a band to play the alma mater & fight song as he directed them again. Then there was lots of pictures, too many speeches, and chatting with a bunch of people I hadn't seen in ages. Including my only surviving ex (boyfriend variety).
I never went to any reunions, so some of these folks I hadn't seen in AT LEAST 15 years, some as long as 25 years. I'm glad I was facebook friends with most; Made it easier to recognize them!
I took Mom, since she was a band chaperone for 8 years. She had a good time too, even though I made her take a LOT of pictures of me with various peeps.
g~ the deposition will go fine. Just answer each question succintly and don't volunteer info or ramble.
