I like the walkway idea! We got 3 drops of rain and a little wind. I'm gonna go attach support boards to the wall now. Can't staple wire until I'm willing to have the compressor kick on and wake the kids. Can't use it with an extension or it blows the fuse box. As I found out yesterday. Sigh. Maybe DH will take pity on me and help out.

Mornin everyone. Sounds like a few of you have weather related issues. Sorry.
Laree, love your coop. I have been wanting to change mine over to something like that.
So far dh is not on board so I'll have to do it myself if it's going to happen.
Boo, keep up the good work!
McFly, you and Beaner inspire me to get out and do more building!

Good morning!

Yikes on your coop Laree.

Time to wake up those kids mcfly

Deb, thanks for encouragement, sometimes it gets tough.
Well, that's how I got into this shape to begin with, lack of motivation, too many excuses.

I'm even making coffee at son's house instead, so when I want a refill, I have to walk up the hill!
I can tell this is going to go slow, my tummy has been too big for awhile, and its being stubborn now.

If I had tools and supplies, I could make my coop bigger, and I need more nest boxes, when the 5 younger ones come of age.

I think I will try and get a picture of Pecky today.
He is a rooster. But I really want to keep him since he is one of my hen's babies from that rooster that came visiting for awhile.

I do not know where the three hens that sleep in the stall are. Gone broody somewhere, I'm sure. Eventually, I'd like a big enough coop for them too, so I could have their eggs, not just find them occasionally in random places around the yard, like in the rafters.

Wouldn't mind waking the precious darlings (lying) but DH is still in bed and I hate to wake him on his only day to really sleep in. I hope the neighbors behind me are still asleep. Drilling lots of holes in concrete block wall isn't quiet.

Maybe I'd better lay off, but darn if I wait until a civilized hour it'll be so doggone hot! Guess I'll go sort laundry for a while.

Oh yea, trying to get things done in the heat, I just do not know how you all do it.

It is SOOOO muggy outside. It is still threatening to rain, everything is all soaked, and it is a bajillion degrees outside.

Every ten minutes I have to go outside and chase the Icelandics back over the alley wall.

On the plus side, I found some used hardware cloth (about 60'-70' of it) for $20. I'll be able to cover a good chunk of the run with actual hardware cloth for cheap!! WOOT!

ok, here's a short story. Its about a boy and a girl 7 and 4 respectively. Parents are druggies, dad is in jail and kids are in foster care.

the boy is now becoming destructive as he acts out more and more

Damaged a window, tore a screen out of a storm windows frame, one out of the back door, 2 box springs (broke), one ipod dock, has a habbit of trying to peek into closed bedroom and bathroom doors, tries to sneak in the older girls rooms when they are asleep, got crayon all over the deck and that was surprising, as it had been thought all his crayons were thrown away after he ruined the finish on the kitchen table.....

lets see, scratched his name in hardwood flooring....

beside that, severe adhd and the doctor has done nothing in 4 months for him. so bad the child cannot go in public.

Boyd, that is such a hard decision.

Is he difficult all the time? Or just destructive when mad?

all the time. He has no impulse control either so we quite literally have to follow him from room to room in case he gets the notion to scratch his brain with a pencil.... wicked smart and reads at an 11th grade level but I think there is more going on here. I know the peeking thing is somewhat normal for boys but on top of everything else he's done 3k worth of damage in the past month alone....

Oh and I forgot, wrecked the pool cuz he cut the liner..
