Behavioral meds not an option? I am not a believer in drugging kids, unless it is really necessary.

And it sounds necessary.

How long have you had him? Did I miss that?

Oh boyd, all I can offer is

4 months... and I am not one for meds either. They've had the psychological referral and report for 2 months now and the psychiatrist hasn't done anything yet. Personally, I don't know if I can't wait around for the meds to start working

We were all going to go to the movies today and cuz of how bad he's cutting up I won't get to go as he is staying home with me.

Laree you may have hope. It's been raining here all morning and only 70 degrees. Hope it's heading your way. You guys usually get what we do, just later.

all the time. He has no impulse control either so we quite literally have to follow him from room to room in case he gets the notion to scratch his brain with a pencil.... wicked smart and reads at an 11th grade level but I think there is more going on here. I know the peeking thing is somewhat normal for boys but on top of everything else he's done 3k worth of damage in the past month alone....

Oh and I forgot, wrecked the pool cuz he cut the liner..

Maybe you can put him to work stacking wood or something real physical so he can work out some of his aggression and have a sense of accomplishment at the same time. Have you tried calling the doctors daily? The squeaky wheel tends to get the grease. The child does sound like someone to try and get on meds. You are likely to be his first and only shot at a positive male role model. Hope you all get some help soon. And Boyd, thank you for what you do!

the kid has more energy than I do so he can literally work me till I fall over. I guess the worst of it, worse than the property damage is the fact that I can no longer see my friends and family or go in public with him around
