The kind i used was a bailey's so you just ordered a new $20 pump pack, new tubes, horns and filters. The motor never touched the milk, so that was clean.

horns... tee hee hee... does it come with a trident too?

Even better, they still make them!

Thing i loved was how clean the system is, you litterally shove the collection kit in the dishwasher on hot to clean it, and back it goes. They even offer a $50 discount if you're low income.

If I remember right the one I used was a Medela double electric - same deal with the tubes and horns being completely sterilizable. And honestly I don't know how you could even get milk in the tubes, it just went right into the bottles. Cool stuff, really.

Well.. if you pump into a 4oz bottle, aren't paying attention and overfill the bottle, the milk backs up into the tubes. I was able to get a pretty consistent 10-12 oz per pumping so i'd have to swap bottles half way thru.

The medela was too small to fit the bounty of nursing. (which is a gentle way of saying cleavage from chin to waist).

I found some bigger bottles that would fit. 4 oz did not last long...at all....I think I could have fed an extra baby or two. I ended up throwing away a whole bunch of frozen milk and feeling bad about every ounce of it!

There was a milk bank at Stanford, so I was able to go donate weekly, and still keep the kids fed.

OK everyone, working on another tattoo.... and I got the thistle in my last tat because its a symbol of scotland. well, apparently, norway and germany dont HAVE such a thing, so is there anything that you can think of (besides a swastika... bad taste) that brings Germany to mind?

Isnt the cornflower the national flower of Germany?
