She's just freaking awesome. I claim I get her to make up for the crap that raised me. But she's the type who never liked actually working outside the home, she's perfectly happy to fuss about at home to make it nice. Me? Slacker compared to that. I'm happy as long as you can see the floor some days.

From what you have said about your MIL, she does it out of love. How can you feel bad that she is trying so hard to please you. Just give her some sugar and the both of you can be happly little chickadees. JMTC's.
