I was diagnosed PCOS in 2004, but I seem to have reversed it because I had no symptoms of it when I got pregnant with Jacob last year. First, my doc checked my insulin levels, not just my blood sugar (which always tested normal), but my insulin levels (which were extremely high). So she put me on Metformin to bring those levels down, which worked beautifully. Then I was told I needed to cut out simple sugars and white carbs - ooooooooh I was highly resistant to that! I finally did it and lost 60lbs, still have about 20 to go. Now I have no more PCOS symptoms and no more side effects.
