Yes they are. I had a "humane" society worker tell me black cats are the first to be done in becaus eaverage adopters dont' like the whole superstition of black cats.

Fortunately for Norman and Lucy, Beaner is not normal.

It was the same at the shelter I worked at. It sucks but I understand it (sort of). You can hold a black cat there for months without it ever getting a second glance. A pretty colored cat will get adopted quickly, making room for another to stay. People just dont like black animals.
